Modolo quill stem quality?
I was thinking of purchasing a modolo quill stem since I wanted a black quill stem for one of my bikes.
Found one locally that looks like this but I was wondering about the quality...

Modolo stem, black - HPV-parts.de
and its bugging me that it says low budget line. Should I be afraid of this cracking on me?

Nah, this isn't one like the Modolo with the Death Stem reputation for snapping. Those had a recall campaign back in the late 80s.

Nice design, and it isn't one of the DeathStems. I'd go for it, but only if you need a 70 or 90 mm stem! The trouble I have with my modolo stem however is that the paint is flaking off, and if you want to run it higher later on that will show up pretty ugly.

Low budget just means it was lower / cheaper model, still a decent stem albeit a short one.
