Motobecane Head Badge

Does anyone recognize the vintage of this Motobecane head badge? The owner thinks it is 1970's, but I believe it is older. BTW, the axles have wing nuts.

Which model bike is it? Seeing that Pantin, a northern suburb of Paris, where they were made, makes me think it is a European model.

I don't know the model, I'll have to contact him and ask. That may take a few days as he is traveling.

Maybe some export bikes had that badge. Perhaps late 60's? Pretty neat.

I found another headbadge like it on THIS PAGE.

The stem-mounted shifters point to it being an early 70's boom bike, and I would have no reason to believe they're replacements.
It's an uncommon badge though, for sure, and something tells me it might be a non-US market build.

Looks like the bike has stem shifters. Wouldn't that place no older than early 70's?

yes, indeed rb. the trapezoid shaped cast alloy weinmann cable anchor may be an aid to dating. iirc they were only around for one or two years; roughly 1969-70. perhaps the forum's weinmann experts can post on this more precisely...
