Moots may have pioneered that resurgence. Way back they had a booth at Interbike with their "mountain bike rollers" featuring the tree trunk for one roller and rocks on the others, and one of their bikes had 650B wheels. Don't remember the year but one of you guys must have been there and seen that.

Grant Petersen enjoys hatchets. Mostly because they are much easier to destroy carbon forks with.

I decided to DL the "Just Ride" book to my phone. So when I get stuck waiting for the wife or grandkid... I can still make a connection to cycling.

Grants my buddy. Love his bikes and his philosophy is right-on as far as I'm concerned. Just Ride.
Almost bought one of his bikes a few years ago but decided against it because I'd just baby the heck out of it in my garage. Too afraid to let the elements come in contact with it or it get stolen. So I just bought a Bikes Direct Dawes and I practice his philosophy every time I Just Ride it.
I still find myself peeking over at the Rivendell site to kick myself though.

I took this thread title literally and said "Grant Petersen" but nothing happened. So I said it again. After a dozen or so more times I think I'm starting to feel better.

So I was just reading a bit about Zeppelin's airplane- the Boeing 720. Almost as long as a Trek 720, but with 20x the amount of teenage groupies.

Oddly enough, it's top speed was 620.

Led Zep's jet had 20X the teenage groupies? Sounds like you need to install a larger rack, you know that 80's touring bikes are chick magnets right?

So you're saying- it's not just middle aged men who like large racks?

I'm sayin' when the ladies see guys like us riding by on such sweet vintage goodness, they're going to want to jump on. You've gotta put em somewhere.

Not true:

Grant Petersen was interviewed on NPR by David Greene, who has cut promos and appeared with Karl Cassel, who featured Kevin Bacon on his show wait wait don't tell me

But he has only one degree of separation from Baron Karl von Drais, Ernest Michaux, James and John Starley, and Chuck Norris.
