Here's the preliminary graph of those who have me their weights. I can modify it, but I needed to get it up and I won't have time tomorrow, the 31st!

By the way, next signip fior any interested participants will be the end of the month and there will be a November entrant baseline then. Meantime, welcome Phatty, Relayer, and Graham, I got you in as well! The adjusted graph will be up tonight.

Well...what they hey! Why not?

My weight this morning was 288.4 lbs. My weight when I started riding again in mid-August was 318. Which do you prefer to be the baseline weight?

BTW, what isyour thesis?

Current weight will be the baseline, mkadam, and thanks...and welcome!

As to my thesis? In very general terms:

Morbid obesity is a maladaptive expression of behaviors and biological imperatives dating back to Human Prehistory (ie: When We were Hunter/Gatherers in tribal units culturally speaking). The drives that cause morbid obesity would serve well in time of famine or shortage, for example. The eventual line of research, when I get to that point, will be toward effective nonsurgical techniques to deal with the maladaptive behavior.

Should we wager how much collectively as a group we can lose? If each of us can lose 3 pounds that's almost 50 pounds! Higher or lower?

Over the next month? Could be tough with the Thanksgiving holidays coming up, but I am pretty serious about my goals, so I will say, yeah higher than 50lbs collectively.

I would say 50 collective would be achievable, even with the holidays coming on!

Just ride after dinner! Let's plan a Thanksgiving day virtual group ride! Instead of sitting around all day, go out in the AM and pedal!

Absolutely!..I plan on losing 10lbs myself in November. Thanksgiving? Bring it on! Turkey-white meat, green beans, corn, salad and football!

While I have no intention of "going out in the AM and pedalling"- just too damn cold in PA for me this timeof year- I will commit to 1 hour on the trainer!

Maybe Santa will send me a list of uber-uber-warm biking clothes in detail for Christmas so I can venture out of my basement before late Spring.
