Only 4 1/2 miles today and some of that was running errands , life got busy and that was all the time I had to ride 24.5 m.t.d. The week off hurt my miles

Been a few days since I've updated, so....
April 08 = 13.77 miles.
April 09 = 11.55 miles.
April 10 = 19.09 miles.
MTD = 152.33 miles.
One-third of April in the books and I am half-way to my goal. This has got to be one of my best months so far.

Winds died down and temperatures coming up a bit. Made for a very nice commute. Only downside of warmer temps are the swarms of gnats in the pre-dawn hours.

I hit it at just the perfect time. This week has been cold and snow, last week was perfect cycling weather. They've had a dry winter and there was no snow on the roads, just the hills or just off the paved roads at the higher elevations. Temps were in the 60's. I would enjoy living like that on a permanent basis!

Today I rode 20 miles, longest ride ever, and fastest average speed ever. It was also my first time with biking shorts, which I really believe add about .5 mph to my speed. Before my butt was getting sore early, causing me to stand up and slow down, but today, although I did have a bit of saddle soreness, my fitness was definitely my limiting factor, which is good, because If I can push harder, my fitness will improve.
I now have 54 miles for the month, and I'm half way to my goal. Since today's ride was so good, I'm going to reward myself with some clipless pedals.

Ventured out on Saturday morning for a little nontechnical trail ride on my CX bike. 24 miles and 3,400 ft of hill climbing. Lots of hikers and bikers out on the trails enjoying the Spring weather. Stopped to take a picture along the way.

I only rode 3 miles last night I was just beat from work. I got out today and hit the trails at the local park and rode 12.3 Temps in the high 50's but the wind is sharp and biting 39.3 m.t.d 20 less than this time last month hopefully I can get out tomorrow.

I had a goal of 1600 miles this year, basically a re-introduction of myself to my bikes. Last couple of years have been depressing as I became a massive work-a-holic. If I hit this goal...I will have made the 10,000 mile club, which I should have hit in 2010 or early 2011 truth be told. Anyway...I am well on my way, got my wife to start riding a bike; she was a runner, but her knees cant take it anymore. I have 404 miles this year so far and only need to avg 138 mile per month based on the current miles and days left in the year. I did 46.5 today...absolutely glorious day for a ride today. Hope to go out for 30 tomorrow with the wife, but they are predicting rain most of the day so it might just be a trainer day or the bike at the gym.
