American River from the west abutment of the Auburn dam site. Good picture of why the dam was never built. On the right hand side of the picture that's a small fault line the goes right into where the east side of the dam would have been. Fault lines and dams are not a good mix! At the center in the river is the pump station where our local water district takes water out of the river and pumps it up for us.

I resemble that remark.

Glad I made my 100 miles early, 'cos the mileage has dropped in the pan.

127 miles / 10,978' (out of 30,000).

Gonna be fun.

I'd like to see 100 this month split between trainer and road

2/2: 7.2mi(t) - 30:00.
2/7: 22.87mi - 1:42:38 (slooooow).
2/9: 4.6mi(t) - 20:30 (bunion flare up). Putting flat pedals back on tonight for the duration of foot pain.
2/12: 9.1mi(t) - 40:30
2/14: 10.0mi(t) - 42:45
2/14: 8.4mi(t) - 35:49 New crankset. Old BB cover got stuck, so lubed bearings and heading to LBS for help after work.
2/16: 11.0mi(t) - 49:15 1/2"-3/4" ice on the ground. Still having foot pain. Need to find me a podiatrist.

Total: 73.17/100+

MTD-107.6mi

New goal. Since I only rode 28 mies last week, due to illness; and I'm a bit 'rested', I think I'm going to try to hit another 100 miles over the next 11 days (to finish out the month). Which shouldn't be too hard. Doing that will keep me on track with my original 50mi/week goal. Making up for the short week.

MTD 350 miles

Commuted on my alternative commute route today. Sixteen miles down a two-lane county road. First mile from the house is a screaming 10 percent grade. Hit 41.6 mph in the dark this morning going down that hill, on my 29er mountain bike. A little adrenaline in the morning is a better wake up than a big cup of coffee.

Avoid that. They're bumpy!

155 miles / 13,947'

Lagging my own elevation goal badly; trying to get miles on sand. What fun.
