EternaLight X-Ray

Man oh man is this unit cool...

https://www.flashlightavenue.com/xray.html

I mounted the unit on my Giro Pneumo, and am hoping to do a test run (hopefully w/o rain, but that'd be a better test...) tonight on the commute home.

Lots of comments from worker-drones at work. This thing is just bright.

Spendy, but worth it, methinks.

happy trails,
Tom

Hi Tom. I have been using the eternaLight ergo marine on my helmet for the past two years. I mounted it on my helmet with velcro and use a velcro wire wrap as a safety strap. I think this light provides the best forward finger print of any light I have used. Unlike other lights, however, it will not illiminate the road very in front of you. For this, I have mounted Cateye EL-300s on each side of my Burley trailer. My co-workers say I look like a UFO when I arrive at work during the dark time of year.

Good luck with your x_ray. I have one I use as a normal flash light. They are quite the nice flash light.

Thanks for the reply TCH...

I'm not only running the one light, but it's a good addition. Viva Las Vegas!!!

cheers,
Tom

This is a cool light. It would be a good rear light, too.

However, I don't think it's legal where I'm from to have a blue light unless you're a cop.

The eternaLights are made by Technology Associates:

https://www.techass.com/

You can get these flashlights with red bulbs, which would make them legal for rear facing applications. I would also like to point out that they use a microprocessor to pulse the LEDs, which allows the batteries to last for much longer than they would if used in a Cateye EL-100 or similar LED light.

I typically purchase my eternaLight lights from The LED Light folks:

Enjoy!

Meant to also clarify, the X-Ray does not use blue LEDs, but rather, the casing is blue. It has the ability to be used as a night light (single internal LED which illuminates the case). It, as with the other eternaLight products, uses white LEDs, which would blind the cars approaching you for behind, thereby reducing your rear facing fingerprint.
