The standing and pedaling bit might be cuz you can't put your weight over the handlebars and rock them side to side while you pedal. I'm just guessing though. Remember to adjust your cyclocomputer for the Coda's wheels then report on how much faster you are compared to your old bike. I look forward to seeing the playlists again.

Looks can be deceiving, but skinny wheels do not mean fragile. You can have big beefy walmart wheels that really are poorly built with cheap parts. I have not even needed to true my wheels of my Coda since I've had it (3 years).

But, as I said before, I'm pretty light. Heavier riders have to true wheels more often. I'm 135#, so I have no problems. I do ride through rough roads, though. You have made a very good purchase. Your Coda will serve you well. Congratulations.

I remember reading/hearing/something that the coda wheels are actually pretty strong. They're intended to be commuter type wheels. Seems to me that the guy trying to convince me I should buy the Coda was saying something about the rims actually being thicker than you'd expect (possibly by being double-walled?) which resulted in a stronger than "normal" rim. This was a year ago so I could be completely wrong but I think it was something like that.

should do me then; we're in the same range. it's neat to have someone else in the forum who's a convert to your own favourite bike - i have to admit i'm so VERY happy about getting this one i have trouble not bending the ear of total strangers who don't give a damn. the guy who recommended it did tell me it was jamis' version of taking a road bike and making it commuter-worthy, so it all looks good. if it lives for three years i'll be thrilled.

cyclocomputer, yossarian? i wot not of cyclocomputers. some mornings i can't even get my stopwatch to work. actually if i can start out by matching my regular times from the last of the winter commute after two months of enthusiastic couch-potatodom, i'll consider that all the accolade this bike would need. i've done nothing but read and mess around with the shrinking properties of white buffalo wool, and a big day was when i changed out of pjs before 3 pm. it's been great
