Some people are better off left unseen. The model in that pic is their poster boy.

That EL wire is pretty cool. Can you get that stuff at Radio Shack?

I used two of the reflective illuminated flashing ankle bands to make a collar for Bailey. Three of them would probably go all the way around a helmet. There are a few different kinds on line. Or you could buy as many as you want and cover every inch of the helmet with them.

Then you would have to promise never to ride with me.

But, you have to promise to post a photo.

Edit post: After thinking about it for a minute, if you do that I want you to promise that you will ride with me.

2MB First blush I wondered if they had these in my collar size! But all around the helmet might be better. couple of zip-ties would work. Wondering how long do those batteries last?

If you're going to have a helmet all lit up, you might as well just go all the way and get one of these to ride in:

Synth optional...

Dude I would ride in those in a second. On the Autobahn even. AUUUTOOOOOBAHHHN!

Half of Kraftwerk quit because cycling was so important to the other members of the group.

If you will put one around your neck and go for a ride in the dark, I will give you one. Provided you post a photo. They have a stretch fabric and velcro, one size fits all.

Zip ties will work fine.
I don't use Bailey's much, I don't know about the batteries. The on line ones might say.

Edit post: Bingo. - all kinds of things, take a look https://www.polybrite.com/products.html

Here's one.

Visible from up to one mile at night, in low-light, and no-light situations
Made of lightweight shock and weather resistant materials
One (1) standard watch battery (included) last up to 200 hours in flashing mode
Light and reflect
Safe - Operate on 3 volts
Patented polymer/LED combination
Constant or Flashing Light

Another option is flat-mount LEDs. Again, handy with a soldering iron is a big requirement.
What started out as a half-joke might actually work. Here's a link to some EL wire. The outdoor stuff is $1.30 per foot. A small light waterproof battery box at the back of the head could work.

Problem with El wire is that it glows but it's not that bright. What you need is a flexible strip of surface mounted LED's. Think of a string of blinkers on your head.

Bikes: TBL Onyx Pro(ss converted), Pake SS (starting to look kinda pimped)

not a helmet specific piece but the light strip can come out and be purposed, and it's a hell great hard shell to boot. I've got one and it's awesome.

Take a look at the Busch & Mueller Top Fire at Peter White Cycles:
https://www.peterwhitecycles.com/b&m.asp (scroll down to bottom of page)
At only 18g, you could buy several of them and cover your entire helmet and not even notice the extra weight. Personally, I just have one set showing through the rear of my helmet vents.

You got it.

If you could get a photo of slvoid riding with one, I would be tempted to give you a new bike !

See above. I'm sending one just like Bailey's to vrkelley.

It's cool looking but I can only imagine replacing batteries on it would be expensive. It's prolly too late now, but I bought battery powered LED Xmas lights from Target. I can see wrapping those 18 bulbs around one's helmet and get noticed. They don't blink though...

Just one replacement blinker flashes the whole set. Go for it!
