Opinions on this Cross Check build.

An LBS near me is doing their own build on CC's. Anyone care to offer an opinion on their choice of components? It's a pretty interesting possibility, but I'm not much of a parts weenie, and wondered what others thought.
TIA

Seems like a reasonable choice of components, although I'd prefer a double to a triple, and bar-end shifters instead of brifters.

+1 - depending on your local riding terrain, a triple may be more than is neccessary. Admittedly I like simplicity of my single speed cross check but I do live in the flat lands. Bar end shifters are simple and cheaper, but if you prefer brifters I think that that is an area to go for a upgrade if you can negotiate it, I'd try to get 105 level if you can swing it.

All in all this is a pretty solid mid line set up. How rigid are they about this selection of parts?

And you gotta at least consider a brooks saddle.

Thanks for the feedback gents. I've been going back and forth between double and triple. I ride a triple now, and rarely get to the tallest ring, but these 48 year old legs keep telling me to keep the bail out gears. "Pretty solid mid line set up" sounds reasonable, with options for flexibility in the future. Emailed the LBS, and this is a one off build left over from last year, don't know if there's much parts swap available, but can't hurt to ask.

Never sat on a brooks, but definitley like the look on a Surly, so we'll see.

Not too shabby. I would upgrade the shifters to 105 personally, but it's probably not necessary. I too would go with SS, but if the legs aren't willing, then keep those gears.

If you look at the specs it is being sold as a triple...105 with 52/42/30.

Personal preference. I'd take brifters over bar-ends anyday. Nothing wrong with the bar-ends, I just don't like them.

I would switch out the Tektro brakes for Shimano cantis. I can hear the V-brake contingent breathing down my neck, gotta run...
