Steel Bike Fit

I am 5' 9" with a cycling inseam of 83cm. Below are may stats crom CC. I was wondering what some of you might think about a frame that is 56cm C to C (seat tube) and 56 C to C (top tube). This would put me between the Eddy and French fit. This bike is for recreational riding and commuting. My round trip commute is about 15 miles. It is a steel frame (great condition) that I have that is not built up and I am currently riding a Giant M Alu bike.

From: Big Ring. Little Cog.

Bikes: 2005 Dahon Speed TR, 2006 Dahon Mu SL, 2000 GT XiZang, 1999ish Rock Lobster, 2007 Dean Animas CTI

Lennard Zinn's fitting guide from zinncycles.com worked really well for me.

Here's those results using your numbers.
Seat Tube Length: 54.6
Seat Tube Center to Center: 52.9
Top Tube Length: 62.9
Bottom Bracket Height: 26.5
Stem Length: 130
Assuming you are an intermediate rider type ...

You're in the ballpark with your frame and a shorter stem ... I say try it. What the hey?

Edit - Oooppps it's not Leonard. (Or Lynyrd either. )

Well, a 56cm frame would basically be a 22 inch frame. I'm currently using a 23 inch frame for commuting now. I have a 31" inseam which is basically 79 cm. The 23 inch frame is actually a little too big for me, a 22inch would be perfect. So given that, I think it may be a little small on you, but not terribly small. I'm sure it can be quite workable with the right stem, cranks, and seat post.

I understand that English may not be your first language, or maybe you're typing quickly -- I can figure out that by "insam" you mean "inseam." But otherwise, I am absolutely lost. Eddy and French fit? Are these standard terms? I want to learn this new lanaguage.

Only if one already knows what is meant by the Eddy and French fits, which is what Bklyn asked about. Instead of getting snarky, you could just provide the link:

You're welcome.
