My fiance also owns a Novara hybrid, but I wouldn't count that one for myself.

My wife and I have 29 operational bikes between us, soon to be 30 again when I take delivery of a bespoke Bill Holland titanium path racer to replace the ti path racer that cracked at a drive side chainstay weld. Breakdown: 6 road racers, 4 track, 6 MTB, 9 city bikes of various configurations (mostly 3-speeds), 2 mixtes, and 2 Schwinn beach cruisers. I also have two frames waiting to be built up, a 60s R.O. Harrison track frame, and an NOS 1990 Trek 930 MTB frame.

Filling out the mid-pack fodder with three bikes.
1. Geared '77 Schwinn Traveller III road bike w/rack and fenders for commuting/leisure.
2. Geared '05 Specialized Rockhopper Pro Comp MTB dedicated to the plethora of sweet single track nearby.
3. Geared '85 Trek 830 MTB with civilized tread, rack, and fenders for errands/commuting/beater/loaner.

Have over 10, this is the year I thin out the ranks.

Evidently I voted on this poll 6 years ago. Not sure what the head count was then. But it's 5 for me, 14 total in the garage. Family of 4.

even though i live in a valley, i love the challenge of attacking hills on a single. my morning commute is 5-10mi depending on route w/ about 500' of elevation. makes coming home much quicker though. :)

4. Nashbar SS 29er that I just picked up. I was going to buy a Salsa El Mariachi from a LBS, but I've recently become poorer than normal and couldn't swing the $1,050 clearance price versus the $399 Nashbar.

At the moment, I technically own three. In reality, only two of them are for me though. (I'm tuning up a 1974 Juenet mixte for my mother in law, and haven't handed it off yet.)

Just got the Fuji, and am absolutely loving it. I suspect the Schwinn is going to be relegated to those days when I have to slog a lot of stuff, or on the days when the weather is a bit questionable out.

How often does one have to ride a bike for it to be considered a bike that "you actually ride"?

I own 4 total.

1. a giant boulder. has been just sitting in the back yard for 3 years now. I hate to think about it's condition.
2. is my GT and it gets action about once every 3-4 months when my other 2 good bikes are both down.
3. is my trek belleville. Now mostly junk thanks to me installing a nuvinchi n360 hub that is so inefficient I can no longer pop the front wheel off the ground. Used only as backup for my next bike.
4. My daily commuter, a Giant freerider city bike. It is ridden about 5-6 days a week. About 100 miles on average.

2010 Giant FCR3300. Bought last year second-hand for a steal. Last year didn't ride too much, but I've since modified it to be my quick bike, and I've ridden it a lot more this year.
2011 Giant FCR3500. Nearly 2 years old now. Has about 8000 miles on it. My touring/wet weather commuting/all around bike.

I'd love to add a lightweight road bike to the mix, but we have a very small apartment so I couldn't fit a third bike, and I don't want to get rid of either of the bikes I've already got. So no road bike for me.

but i also have little kids bike for my son, Someday when he can reach the pedals all the way around. :)
