I've got 2 Raleigh twenties (a green one that is operational and a brown one that's a WIP), 2 Schwinn Town & Country Trikes (a 1980 WIP, and a 2007), a 1988 Specialized Sirrus, a 2007 Specialized Sirrus 700c hybrid, and a 1989 Alpine Monitor pass hardtail that has been hybridized. So it's seven.

That was '07, now in '09 things are different.

The Free Spirit Brittany went to the bike coop. Now in addition to the other three, I have a ghost bike, someone gave me a reggae painted Murray frame, I got a very nice Kabuki that a co-worker left behind and bought myself a Bacchetta Giro 20 recumbent and a Bikes to Work trailer.

Nine. The first 5 are "my" bikes (the first 3 I've ridden to work on), the last 4 are project bikes that are too small for me and will be sold eventually.

I'm gonna craigslist the 2 folders and the Next cruiser since I don't hardly ride them anymore. I'll see how the C.Itoh comes along after the single speed conversion. She'll either be a good commuter or junked.

Well, since somebody dredged this thread up from the dead, here's my stable, in order of how often they are ridden:
1. Bob Jackson World Tour, my main commuter bike.
2. Eddy Merckx AX, my ride for weekends and long distances.
3. De Bernardi SL, my fixe/SS conversion that I usually ride to work once a week.
4. Merckx Corsa 01, my backup road bike that ain't getting enough love.
5. Specialized Rockhopper, my mountainbike that I ride about once a year.

I voted for 6. I actually own more, but they are my 'inventory' since I'm kind of an amateur bike flipper.

I have several others that I mean to fix up and sell, including a Cannondale T500 touring bike, a Bianchi Eros, a Nashbar MTB, a Raleigh Twenty, and... well, you get the picture.

1. 1997 Schwinn Passage, my first road bike, that I now ride almost exclusively. Upgraded to Shimano 105 about 2 yrs ago, it's fast, quiet and reliable.
2. 2000 KHS Flite Team 2000, very light and fast bike. I'm going to convert it to a double crankset and try riding it on days when it's not going to rain.
3. 1999 Fisher Mamba, hardtail mountain bike and sometimes winter commuter. Since I've got my wife her road bike we just don't get out on the trails any more...
4. 2008 Ritchey Breakaway Cyclocross - currently building this bike, which I bought for travel and so we can do the C&O Canal to Harper's Ferry this summer.

I have 2 currently. Hoping to pick up a 3rd steel-framed solid-fork mtn bike to turn into the all weather commuter.

Currently have:
2001 Cannondale F500 Hardtail - was the jack of all trades commuter/grocery getter until I got the following.
1984 Motobecane Mirage Sport Road bike - the sporty fair weather commuter.

I live with 2 room mates, and between all 3 of us we have 5 bicycles.

Seven that I can throw a leg over and get a move on. Three not counted that are disassembled, needing overhaul/reassembly, including a Vitus and Somec from the 80's...

3 of the fleet are fixed gear.

I use 'em all on the commute, except for the Kestrel, which has spindly, go fast wheels not exactly suited for carrying a heavy load...

1. '98 Sunn Revolt - steel race hardtail, raced it alot in the early '00s
2. '98 Specialized Stumpjumper - converted commuter/grocery getter with rear racks, recently powdercoated. I ride it daily to work and around town.
3. '99 Bianchi Campione - my roadbike to get training miles in
4. '03 Giant NRS Team - full suspension "race" but I don't race anymore
5. '04 Interloc Tempest - 853 steel 2x9 rigid fun bike w/a spare wheelset shod with slicks
6. '08 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR - recent purchase, been riding this one on the trails lately. A little more plush than the NRS.

Luckily I have a garage to store and work on them and a girlfriend who understands my obsession.

I have a bike for almost every decade going back to the 1930's but don't think I will need one for the next decade or the one after that. :)

They are a mix of old and new with new being my 2001 Rocky Mountain Blizzard and the old being a 1933 CCM Rambler, a gentleman's coaster bike.

In between I have a 1940 CCM that I turned into a path racer...

1. 2006 Fuji touring bike - Just bought it new for $385 :-). My new commuter/utility bike.
2. 2006 Raleigh Supercourse - bought new in 2006. My "good" road bike
3. 1997 Fuji Roubaix - Bought new. My former "good" road bike/commuter. Has ~25-30,000 miles on it.
4. 1994 Raleigh MTB - purchased new.
5. Circa 1990 Cannondale Criterium 3.0 - purchased used for $100 - pretty bike, and fast!! Trainer bike
6. 1981 Trek road bike - Purchased used for $45. Set up as my utility bike.

I just bought #1, so will likely retire #3 and #6. Might sell them, might just put them out to pasture in my shed in case I want to reseurrect them later. They're all still in good riding condition.
