I have 2 bikes, my wife has 1... but my daughter, who just turned 8 has 4 bikes! It's garage sale time! Actually, I think I'll just donate them.
|
I have 5:
1) Orbea Orca (Carbon) 2) Eddy Merckx TiAx (Titanium) 3) Fuji Absolute Flatbar (Aluminum) 4) Bridgestone RB-1 (Steel) 5) Specialized StumpJumper (Steel) All in working order rotate between the bikes for commuting, recreational riding, errand runs. |
I did vote two, that is two operational bikes in my possession.
I actually own four bikes, but one has a broken frame and the other has been indefinitely loaned to a friend. (I don't really expect, nor want it back) Al |
1) Bianchi racer that's older than me. It's an '87 model, very light and fast - a dream to ride.
2) Trek hybrid converted to a road bike/tourer. I commute with the Trek, but I'd like a beater road bike with milk crate :D. |

3 bikes for me.
1. Road Bike 2. Peugout MTB (needs a new chain and crank/BB fix but still rides with a slight wobble) 3. Custom MTB (primary ride) I don't have a beater but I am looking into finding an aluminum bike for all weather riding. Also a nice true hybrid for riding on the skinnys with no back/shoulder soreness. My Peugout is a touch small for me as I get toe clipping once in a while if I turn too sharp an angle and my toes are stuck out but otherwise it works liek a hybrid and I can ride straight up. Still need a bike comp for that bike. |
Since you added OPERATIONAL..LMAO 5
|
Three (plus a tandem I share with my stoker):
'94 Cannondale hybrid singlespeed '03 Novara Big Buzz hybrid '00 Rans Tailwind recumbent |
I have 7:
1) Main commuter, a Schwinn World Sport townie conversion. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/188/4...a6fcfba9bf.jpg 2) 700c cruiser, back up commuter and great bar bike, it's for sale soon to make room and get money toward a touring bike for my summer plans. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/222/4...912559d3fa.jpg 3) 2000 Lemond Buenos Aires, my main road bike and just about my dream road bike. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/172/4...3e3b64f693.jpg 4) Specialized Langster, fixed gear fun. I ride this like a road bike, I've even done a century on it. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/182/4...80a6efe6f3.jpg 5) '99 Specialized SS-Works, my only mtn bike (for now, hoping for a 29er soon), recently converted to a single speed. This bike (with gears) will hopefully get me through a dirt century this summer. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/222/4...dbb8b0aa4e.jpg 6) The Chopper, good for bar rides, short errands, and general novelty fun.http://farm1.static.flickr.com/178/4...7f85e9dbca.jpg 7) The Runt, as sold by Toys R Us a few years ago. I don't have a picture, but the wheels are about the size of a shopping cart wheel and it moves at walking pace. It's a lot of fun to jump into pools. Sorry about so many pics, I recently opened a flickr account. |
I have 3:
1) Devinci Havok 1 FS MTN bike 2) Nirve Fifty Five Cruiser 3) Commuter bike (old Rocky Mtn race MTN bike converted to a city bike with slicks and mirrors) http://www.ryderbmx.com/images/Produ...09357ecBig.gif |
Currently 3: two road bikes that cost a lot, and one MTB that cost a little. I probably won't put any meaningful mileage on the MTB until a.) I get a computer for it, or b.) it starts to snow. This presumes I won't sell or throw it away in the mean time.

Darn. You forced me to come to grips with the reality that I am a bike-aholic. 3 race bikes (carbon, Ti, alu), 3 cross bikes (including 1 singlespeed), 3 fixed gear/ ss bikes, 2 mtb's, and 1 track dedicated bike. Then add my husband's 4-5.... :twitchy:
I've just come to the conclusion that - mathematically speaking - my desired number of bikes is "n + 1", where "n" is the number I currently have! :D |

Just 2 so far...
'97 Trek 730 hybrid---beater '84 Peugeot Vagabond tourer---weekend rides (I may sell it when I get something else) who knows. |
I own three that are ridable,Two I haven't ridden at all in the last year, and my Xtracycle--which I have put over 2500 miles in less than a year. Guess which one actually gets ridden.
My wife owns three, total mileage for hers (all three) approx.20 miles. I own a mountain bike, a touring bike, and the X. My wife has a mountain bike,a touring bike, and a comfort bike. |
I've got one bike that I use, and a few that are half complete messing up the garage. Ideally, I think I'd like to have five bikes:
Fixie for messing around around town Touring bike, nothing fancy Heavy duty utility bike 29er for trails Hybrid loaner bike for visitors |
2006 LeMond Sarthe - road bike, trainer, century bike
1992 Specialized Hardrock - year round commuter, studded tires in the winter 1980 Schwinn Voyager 11.8 - nostalgia ride Shopping for a 29er mtn bike for trail riding. |
Currently 3 in my possession:
Iron Horse AT-50 90s rigid MTB (have morphed into a pretty decent commuter) 70s Falcon San Remo Fixie Conversion (nice weather commuter) 70s Schwinn Continental that I bought to turn into a long bike, but abandoned the project and am building it up for a broke friend in NYC I really want to buy a Cross Check or the like to turn into a fast commuter/light tourer in which case the Iron Horse will become a polo bike |
