Three and a half at the moment.
1.) A Salsa La Raza--My commuter, light tourer. I put more miles on this frame than all the others
2.) Giant Lite with a XtraCycle rear end. My heavy hauler, great bike. At the moment it's getting a new internal hub. I'm over-stressing the current one, under power it does not like to hold its top gear.
3.) My new Voodoo Wanga. Built it up as a SS. My farm bike, for the two weeks I've had it I love it.

3.5) I'm welding up a curved top tube heavy tourer. Very much a work in progress.

1) fixed gear conversion, bullhorns... older raleigh capri frame. This was my commuter, now for fun rides.
2) fixed gear conversion, ergo drops, lights, racks, panniers, flip-flop rear wheel, '98 bianchi volpe frame. This one gets ridden every day.
3) my dad's old mtb (not actually mine, but it's at my house and I use it more, so I'm counting) for the very nice mtb trail near my house. I've ridden this once in the last few months, but hopefully will be getting out more often!

I maintain around 20, a dozen ridable. I know of a bike hoarder about 30 mi from me who has over 3000 in his collection! Still drives my wife crazy.

1997 Specialized Hardrock sport. Doesn't see too much action these days.
2005 Giant OCR3. This is the weekend ride. Too many upgrades...
2006 Surly Cross-Check. This is the ONE! (the commuter/do anything bike)
2006 Surly Karate Monkey. This is the other ONE! (SS MTB)

Although I really enjoy the Giant, it's the Surlys that really make my day(s). The Cross-Check is still the one bike I would keep If I could have only one. Thank the powers that be and my Wife that I can have more than one, because The Karate Monkey just too fun. Plus it's the bike with the best bling.

Wow, you guys have me beat big time. I have one. Just one. I've used it for a triathalon, road riding, and now commuting. It's an '04 Specialized Allez Elite. I love the bike but I may consider getting a dedicated commuter by the end of the summer. The Spec looks a little funny with rack/lights/fenders and aero bars. Oh well....

My wife has 2 mt bikes, neither of which are rideable at the moment. The '93ish ProFlex is just beat. Nobody makes elastomers for the rear susp anymore. The '91ish Trek 800 is due for a refit this spring, it will be reborn! It's currently in a sad state of repair however. The frame is good and it will get most of the components off the ProFlex so it will ride again.

I currently have three bicycles. I've owned, including my current bicycles, seven in the last three years, so I'm hoping to keep my collection somewhat stable over the next couple of years at least. Even then, the only one with real possibility of replacement in the near future is my beater, and that would be replacement, not addition. I was toying with the idea of a mountain bike in the last month or two, but I've decided that, not only do I not have the space or time for a MTB, but that my current low-mileage lifestyle doesn't really justify yet another bicycle. I'm planning to start hitting the roads a lot more frequently this spring and summer! Anyway, my bicycles:

1) 2006 Surly Long Haul Trucker - My main commuter and utility ride, also intended for long-distance rides and loaded touring. This is pretty much the do-everything bike.
2) 1987 Univega Gran Record - A speedy little late 80's road bike. It's not a super lightweight, at about 24lbs, but this is my go-fast, have-fun bike. It's a blast to ride, but also tiring!
3) 1978 Schwinn LeTour III - This is my beater and project bike. It's been through four builds in the last year or so, and I'm pretty settled on the present singlespeed configuration, with a semi-upright seating position and nice, swept upright handlebars. This one is very popular with almost everyone who sees it! The only original components are the seatpost, front brake and headset.

I guess I'm a practical sort, I just have two for everyday use. I subsisted with one hybrid for the first few years of commuting (my only cycling), but that wore out and I decided I wanted a good-weather and bad-weather, so now I have those two. I actually also have a mountain bike that I used in the interrim, but I'm not a mountain biker so I'll probably sell it. I don't use it for commuting anymore so I didn't count it.

Hmm, now you've got me thinking I ought to get that thing out again and remind myself what it feels like... :)

1) For good weather: Jamis Quest with flat bars
2) For bad weather: Huffy 3-speed internal hub
3) Not used so much anymore: Trek 820 (?) with road tires
