We use a lot of it at work, and it works for me.

+1 for the spritzer. I am a believer baby.

The advantage of Rocket Shower over wipes or soap like Purell is that it sprays on and you don't have to wipe it off, though I usually do because I'm in a hurry to dress.

3oz spray bottle
60 drops tea tree oil
20 drops lavender oil
fill to the top w/ 100% witch hazel

Smells great and kills the bacteria. Also makes for a good facial toner for help w/ acne. I get my oils here. I'll probably try some juniper when I need to re-order. The only problem I have is finding a spray bottle that doesn't completely suck.

Holy Battery Acid, Batman -- that's a LOT of tea tree oil!

Don't get that in your eyes... or elsewhere...

How much would you recommend? I got this recipe somewhere online.

For what it's worth, I haven't had any discomfort.

EDIT: Assuming 1 drop = 0.05 mL, that puts me at about 3% tea tree oil, by volume. Most of sites I saw give a maximum of about 5 vol%.

However, the recipe I'm using might leave me with a set of moobs.

This has been my tried and true method; works like a champ.

It helps though that my ride in is at 6 or 7 AM in that the heat is not an issue at that time and sweat is minimal. But, unless I'm a real mess like after getting caught in rain shower on a grimy road or something similar, taking a "Polish" shower will definitely cut the mustard.

Just be sure to store a towel and wash rag with your gear.

(Any towel will do, actually, paper towels are best lest the cloth towel begins to smell)

I'd probably go with the wash cloth/spongebath.

But also check with the custodial staff at the new location to make sure there really isn't any shower facility. Of 5 places where I've worked, 2 had showers that were pretty obvious but the other 3 also had showers that were hidden away and intended for the custodial staff to use to clean up before going home. One was behind an unmarked door in the corner of one of the regular restrooms and the other two were off in a corner of the basement area behind some equipment rooms. Hardly anyone who worked in the buildings was aware of the existence of these showers but I never got any objections to using them once I discovered them.

Try diluting citric acid in water and spraying that. I have multiple chemical sensitivity and can't use any type of chemical, on me or for cleaning. I use citric acid for just about everything, dishes, laundry, household cleaning etc. It leaves no residue and unlike rubbing alcohol, NO FUMES. I get it at a local deli/import store that sells Indian and Asian spices. And citric acid is the best dishwashing detergent, bar none.

Wet washcloth (allowed to dry at work and exchanged every few days), paper towels to dry, plus a stick of deo in the desk does the trick. I live in the Phoenix area. We get pretty shwetty down here.

My understanding is that 70% alcohol kills even more bacteria than the 90% variety. Has something to do with oxygen. Jamil Zainasheff taught me that.

I have taken it on bike tours.. You never know, your camping site might end up being without services.. It almost happened to me.. The Rocket Shower might not warm water as quickly as you'd like, but it will be a lot warmer than straight out of the tap.

I've used rubbing alcohol in a small spray bottle for cleanup as needed for years. Commuting, touring (2monthlongs and on my year tour), hiking & backpacking (including 2 monthlongs).

The trick I've found, is to find a spray bottle that sprays a fine mist, like a cologne atomizer. I've found these bottles (https://www.internatural.com/ingr/ingr174062.cfm) in the travel sized section of a big box store a few years ago. I'm still using the same bottle, and have given a bunch away.

I like to use 91% rubbing alcohol, but 50-70% works too.

I just use these...they work fine. Kind of like wet-naps..32 cloths..i use about 3 per day, so you can do the math.

The ladies room I clean up in has the sink directly in view of the office area if the door is opened! I just shampoo (decently clothed) in the sink, then fill a small bucket with clean water to finish scrubbing the rest of me in the handi-stall for privacy. I use a small amount of liquid anti-bacterial soap on a microfiber washrag, and scrub myself to remove sweat and road grit; then I use the clear water bucket to rinse the rag out and wipe-rinse myself. My travel towel is a beach towel-sized, microfiber travel towel that folds up very small and dries quickly. It is actually faster to do this birdbath cleanup than deal with walking to the remote shower/lockerroom at my previous office location. There is a storage room next to the ladies room where I hid my cleanup kit.

The road to hell is paved with online information Stuff sold as "tea tree oil" varies a lot in its concentration: if you had the real deal, full strength stuff, that would be a huge amount (and quite expensive for only 3 ounces of end product...probably cost you a lot more than Rocket Shower). I'd experiment with a modest (like 5 drops) of tea tree oil (whatever kind you're using) added to 3 ounces of witch hazel and see how that goes...increase as needed, but then, why do you need it? It's an antifungal/antibacterial, so unless your skin is septic, it doesn't seem like it's really necessary.

I just tried Rocket Shower earlier this month. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't need to use as much as I had originally thought I would need, I only needed about a half dozen spritzes. I felt clean and refreshed.
