Had my first fall :D
So it is at or slightly below freezing today morning by my house. I notice the frozen dew drops on the grass, no biggie. Get out on my bike to run some errands. Have to make a left from my street to the main street. A water pipe is busted and I do notice some icy water mix formation. Wait for traffic to pass and then just as I am about to make a left turn on the street, vuuuuuuuuuuuum I go !! Down went my bike with me on it
A car that was passing by stopped, asked me if I was okay, let me cross the road, and yelled at me for not wearing helmet
Now I usually do wear helmets when I go out for longer rides. This was just a ride for an errand (less than quarter mile !!) so I didn't wear my helmet !
Ended up with slightly bruised cheek and slightly bruised knee, broken fender and a severly bruised dignity !

GlaD yer OK !
Falling is no fun
I was going to work in the 80's in PA and was getting angry at a car going soooo
slow in front of me...weaving behind him and making all kinds of angry puss's
to display my lack of patience.....When the first stop sign came I went around him
on the left to make a right..BAM ! Down I went ! The whole road was a thin
sheet of ice
That humbling lesson sticks with me to this day...I know that
driver was laffing hard and glad I got what I deserved !
Also...I dont know exactly what the area of Jersey is like where you commute, but a
big problem in a lot of winterous areas I have lived is people getting their oils tanks
filled and the truck leaving a huge puddle on the street. I think oil is slipperier than
ice if thats possible !

From: My response would have been something along the lines of: "Does your bike have computer controlled suspension? Then shut your piehole, this baby is from the future!"

Thanks for reminding me about oil spils ! I commute from bergen county to Jersey City (Hudson County) in NJ, so not that many of those, but I will certainly keep an eye out for that now !!!
