29 years old, male, single. I commute year round, five days a week. My commute is probably shorter than most, so I feel like I can put up with just about any weather conditions, knowing I don't need to be out there for that long if I don't want to be.

Year-round, except when it is really icy then I take the light rail part way to avoid dying on the very slippery/shady hill leading up to my work. But snow is fine by me, besides I am in Portland, OR so it is never very heavy. 23ish miles RT (I need an odometer). Started biking 5 days a week in mid-December 2007 and still going strong... |

20 km (12 mile) R/T, 5 days a week. I ride most of the winter, unless there's deep snow, widespread ice, or extreme cold (which I say is anything less than 0 F). I listen to the traffic report in winter--any time that the number of accidents suggests that drivers are incapable of avoiding each other, I leave the bike in the shed and take the bus. |

I don't commute when it rains or if I have a meeting that day. Also, these past 2 weeks, I've been working as late as midnight. I haven't biked simply because I'd rather drive than bike when it's that late. On average, I bike about 2x/week. |

21-mile round trip. Been commuting daily, and year-round, since ... I dunno, 2003, I think. I don't ride in the rain, unless it catches me unawares. We don't get snow. Will ride in freezing temps, but not much below that -- but we don't get many of those. |
52, Male. I ride year round. Rain, Shine or Snow. I have to. I don't have a car. My commute starts at 4:30am. 8 miles one way. I rode in three icestorms and one blizzard (walked some) last winter. Nokian is the way to go.

I started "commuting" on my bike, shared with bus and walking, at 24 and have no plans to stop as long as my legs function...at which time I'll go e-bike. I'm of the gender with the dangly bits mounted on the lower part of the chassis.

50+, male. I went to UC Davis. From there I'm a desk jockey. Bicycle comuting decade after decade has been the major reason why I'm not overweight and out of shape for the weekends. ~50% of the rainy days I would drive instead of bike.

26 female, started commuting about 1 year ago, and have been gradually increasing the percentage of days that I commute (right now around 85% of the month). I'm not sure what I'll do when winter really hits, but I am definitely going to stick it out longer than I did last year.

I have been riding regularly to work for the last 5 yrs. I work 4d/wk and ride 3-4 of those days year round, 14mi RT I ride in the rain, freezing temps, and 100+ degree heat I don't ride in the snow or ice (usually less than 5d/yr where that interferes). I will brave the frost. |
42, male. I really started to seriously commute back in June and plan to stick with it year around except for ice and snow. I've even started buying my winter gear already. We work a 4 day work week and everyday I ride 7 miles round trip.

Presently commuting 5 days a week; I started around the end of March, I think. ~10 mile round trip. We're just getting into the rainy season now, so we'll see how the commuting goes when it starts raining more than once every two months. I kinda feel like, as much as I pay to own my car, which I need in spite of commuting to work by bike, I might as well drive it more than once a week anyway. |

Just turned 26 (boo-hoo... 25 is a prettier number!), female, I'll commute as long as the roads are passable (i.e. no 3-foot snowbanks for roads) and injuries are not preventing me from pedalling. Starting the commute thing about 5 years ago; turned bike into main mode of year-round transportation about 3 years ago.

39.9 y/o male (birthday is Columbus Day), year round, five day per week commuter cyclist. I only drive if I will be on my bike during "plow-able events" (IE., if it is actively snowing when I am commuting in the morning or evening). Surprisingly, that is not all that often even in Maine. If it is an hour after the snow has stopped, I ride my bike. They know how to plow roads around here so that isn't a problem. I just don't want to be a hazard to navigation of plows when they are working.
Studded tires are awesome, so ice isn't an issue. |

48, male, domestic-partnered, have commuted every day rain or shine since starting in spring unless I need a car to haul stuff or go a long distance. My car commute days are now so depressing to me that I can't imagine giving up the bike in the winter - I'm going to put on studded tires and press through.
