Looks good, but I can't really figure out where the shifters are. I see the Tektro/ Cane Creek brake levers, are the shifters on the tops of the bars?

Yeah, they're bar-ends mounted on those Paul thingies. I'm planning on putting them back on the ends though. This was the first time I built a bike, I really just started riding back in February so I wasn't too sure what the best setup would be, thought I'd try the paulies.

Huh, I didn't know they fit on drop bars. Are they hinged? I'd always thought they were for straight bars or something similar.

There have different models for MTB and drop bars, they aren't hinged (that I recall, I DROVE today so I can't check).

So you had to take off all the tape and levers to get them on there? Ouch.

Nice! Tk101 isn't my favorite, but it works when 96.1-The rocket is on commercial.

I prefer 96.1...it is far superior. The TK sticker I got from the station when I was trying to sign up to win a bike.

I believe this is a '72 PX10. Someone at work gave it to me. I don't think he had any idea what it was or what it was worth. He picked it up at a yard sale for I believe $10. So far it has saved me a ton in gas! Fo sho!

slloth - A PX10 would have a Reynold's sticker on the seat tube and not the "Tubes Speciale Peugot" as yours does, nor would it have suicide levers.

You seem to have a UO8 with what looks to be a damaged fork... if the stem says AVA I would replace it as they are notoriously bad and prone to breaking if they are ridden hard.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but that fork looks like it was in a head-on collision. To my eyes the blades look bent backwards.

My new 08' Trek Soho 1.0. I think im in love! Rides beautifully, and I think its everything I want in a bike right now. Just got it today so Ill let you know how I feel after some commuting.

Are you sure my bike is not a PX10? It looks a lot like these bikes.

Hi slloth. I also would say you have a UO-8 there. I have the same model frame sitting in front of me right now. If you look at the bikes in the links you posted you'll notice they all have chrome on the stays as well as the forks. Sweet riding bike either way.

Ahh good eye! Since I really kmow nothing about road bikes let alone vintage road bikes I will take your word!

slloth - A UO8 is a very nice bike that sometimes doesn't get any respect.

They are solid, they ride very nicely and can be upgraded fairly easily to make them even nicer... new alloy wheels will do wonders for them.

slloth - If the fork is bent it should be replaced... UO8's are rather plentiful as they may very well be one of the best selling bicycles in history so finding one to salvage for a fork should not be too hard.

My lowly Pug doesn't even have chromed fork ends... it's a 1962 P6 (as far as I can tell).

Old pugs are popular choices here for fixed gear conversions (mine is fixed) as they are solid and nice riding bikes that also have abundant bb clearance.

Mine weighs 22 pound and a few ounces with the rack and leather saddle which is about ten pounds less than what she was when I saved her from the dump.
