A good looking bike, jpolaski. Reminds me of my bike, although yours is a little nicer. I started with a flat bar but didn't like it so I changed out to an Origin8 Space Bar which seems better.

Here is my daily/commuter/utility ride. It's a basic Jamis Commuter 3, I added an Abus ring lock, rear view, Spanninga Halogen light and tire generator, Wald folding baskets, Blackburn flashy thing, replaced the black plastic fenders with SKS silver, flipped the "townie bars" and it goes anywhere, anytime, any weather.

I just got done last doing a few updates to my Commute Rig, added new wheels and BB7 Road Disc Brakes last week. Hard to tell, but I have a Light N Motion 200L headlight (you can see the battery pack) on the bars. We've had such nice weather for so long I've been riding my Road, Fixie and Tri bikes instead of the old Redline for many months. Darker and wetter times are ahead, so it will start to see regular service soon enough.
I leave my laptop at work and tend to drop off a week's worth of clothing here and there. So, no need for a rack or bags. Average commute is 35 miles one way. I often stretch that out to 50 or 60 in and 30 home on the days I bike both ways. I have a bus option to get home too. http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...1&d=1253516068 |

Can't beat free! My kind of raffle if it's giving away bike parts.
Looks good. -Gene- |
Bought it really cheap, and after some paint an a dive in the old parts bin, my beloved cross/conmuter/bikepacking/favorite bike.

efuentes, what is that? I really like it.

Itīs and old Raleigh True Temper Hybrid Frame, (29er before its time?), Suntour Superbe pro bar end shifters, Zoom Xcross bend handlebar, assorted low buck components, nice long top tube and can fit big rubber.
It started as a commuter bike, but has already done an On/Off road metric Century and a couple of overnighters. The GPS its there since its becoming a hobby to map old trails in Google earth and try to follow them on the weekend. I am beginning to think that the perfect bike its the one that you can afford to mistreat a little :thumb: |

2004 Kona Dr Dew, aka the best $250 I've spent on Craigslist. I need to add a light as it's getting darker every morning. I'll probably be adding a rear rack in the near future too.

This is my commuter.
She started out life as a CCM fully rigid 10 years ago with useful but really cheap parts and evolved through many part upgrades into an amazingly comfortable and reliable commuter. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_3IClY0w9su0/Sr...0/DSC00542.JPG http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink |
My rule is to only eat fast food if I ride my bike to and from.

[QUOTE=TwoHeadsBrewing;9655812]Just go a Trek Soho 2009 last week, and have put on about 100 miles. I love the bike so far, and it just keeps getting better as I get used to the new riding position. It may not be the ultra light dropbar commuter, but its comfy and a big upgrade from my old Fisher hard tail with road tires.
All loaded down - Topeak MTX rack, trunk bag, computer, lights, etc. Roller/Drum brakes - thing that looks like a disc is actually a heat sink/diffuser: Thats one of the most nice stock bikes I've ever seen! Seems like Trek knows what there doing!:thumb: |

That is one awesome looking bike and I really like your rims. Did you add the red stripes yourself or were they sold that way? Also are they reflective? |
