This is the one thing I don't like about the Cross Check frame. The short head tube makes the fit weird if you don't like low bars. I got a size bigger than I would normally use, and I still have a steep rise in my stem.

Me too. I was just thinking about how cool it would look on the seat of the ghost bike that I often pass by on one of my commutes.

BTW I love that yellow Breezer. It screams, "Look at me... love me!"

Unfortunately, my LBS deals only specialized and trek, so it was special order with no return, and they weren't very interested in dealing with me. I expected at least a basic fitting afterwards, but got pretty much nothing, and was told they dont carry the stems or shims for the 26mm bars because spec/trek don't use them... Needless to say, they've been fired and I now drive 30+ minutes to a competent shop that doesn't just want to sell cheap comfort bikes and hybrids.

I wish I would have ordered the bike from the other shop, I'd probably be alot happier with it. Now Im torn between trying to get the 58 to fit better, or dropping money on a new frame and trying to sell the 58....
Im 6'1" 34 inseam and I find I prefer 61-63cm frames. The bars are naturally higher and it is easier on my lower back. I'm about to sell my last 58cm bike and replacing it with a 63cm CADD3 Cannondale road bike. My small bike is the Raleigh at 61 and I have a 60cm Centurion that I may put together.
If you are in the North Atlanta area you are more then welcome to try out one of my 63cm bikes.

Yet another white garage-door pic. Now that I can park my bike in a locked, monitored compound I feel
more confident about riding my pride & joy to and from work. Here she is loaded up for the daily commute.
'Twas a wet day today so I was glad for my full-coverage PB Cascadias.

irclean - I am really liking that bike... betting the belt drive and disc brakes also make riding in the rain a lot more bearable.

I installed the same tyres on my trailer which made quite a difference from the stock tyres and many times I forget there is a trailer behind me.
I am looking at putting in an order for some bike parts. Is $17 a tire a good deal for the Primo Comets? It seems like it.

Thanks; it is indeed more bearable! It's nice to know I can still stop on a dime, at least until the tires' contact patch loses its connection
with the pavement. It's also nice that I don't have to clean/re-lube my chain after each wet ride lest it start to rust. I'm hoping for similar
results with the snow and ice (which is coming soon).

Nice build!

May I suggest some PB Cascadia fenders and a Topeak Super Tourist rack? I have them on two bikes and I am very happy with them.

Seems to be a fair price for them... have had no complaints with them at all and do know they are not going to be the high mileage tyres Marathons would be but they compensate by having a better ride at higher psi and roll out much faster.

My trailer had some 20 by 2.0 tyres when I got it which would be good if you were carrying kids... swapping to the Primo's lightened that up really nicely too.

EEEEKkk, i didnt even finish painting the kuwahara and ive already changed ideas, im instead gonna use that frame as my flatbar winter beater and try out a giant iguana i bought last night. Got a killer deal on it 20 bucks for an all original giant with full suntour components, it was a group buy though i also had to buy with it two other "crappy" MTBs and three sets of crappy wheels, but really a little more than three bikes for twenty bucks ill just do a quick rebuild of the other two turn around and sell each for 15 bucks and i get paid money for the giant. Im gonna throw all the stuff from the giant on the kuwahara and swap the giant frame with my raliegh, ill get some pics up later of the mess i purchased.

Here is my latest city ride. It's a 2010 Globe Live 2, somewhat modified. It has been changed over to a front dynamo hub with a hydraulic disc brake, bamboo fenders and a leather saddle.

It is still a work in progress, i've got a rear rack that has matching wood for the front basket, which will be painted to match the bike, a silver Alfine and a second hydraulic disc brake to install, which has yet to happen. Lastly, need to pick out some dynamo lights to go with the dynamo hub.

Overall, I quite enjoy this bicycle, especially the huge front basket! It's extremely useful, and i'm really developing a preference for it over having panniers.
