Looks closer to 1980 to me. The script on the downtube is more like the 80s models.

I like the way that looks, but then I like the faux retro thing of a lot of the twin 6 jerseys/stuff, so that's not a surprise. I looked hard at that frame, but decided that since I'm not in the market for a new bike I couldn't justify it. Nice build.

Thanks for the kinds words (everyone). Yes, I built it up from scratch. Most of the parts I moved over from another frameset that I sold. Had a lot of fun sprinkling in some red accents to tart it up. Ride is smooth as silk.

took off the trunk bag now that the commute is really walking distance, a friend made the frame bag for me to try out as a prototype.

Done shopping for the season at lunch.

I bought some new lights too, the Sigma 3-LED headlight and 5-LED tail weren't cutting it. Now I have a 9-LED headlight that matches fitment with one of my flashlights. Pretty handy!

I was actually rather foolish and paid like $200 for the darn thing, because it was set up as a fixie at the time. Almost all the components are off a Bianchi Strada LX that I got for free. I wound up selling that frame and some fixie parts for more than I paid for the Schwinn... The rack is actually OEM Schwinn off an 80s Traveler(aluminum rack), and I sold the traveler Sans-rack for like $130. I haven't done the math, but if I hadn't felt compelled to change the saddle I think I'd nearly be in this at a profit.

I really like this one. That frame bag is really nice. Give your friend props. Favorite part about this bike: the coffee mug in the bottle holder. Nothing better on a cold day while waiting at a red light :smiley:

Hey, new to the forum. Thought I'd post my commuter bike. Love this thing, so comfortable and smooth. My first nice bike and have been commuting back and forth to school for the past semester. Felt great and it's nice to ride on the cold New Hampshire mornings haha.

Yeah it is the Gravity Zilla. It rides nice on the road, smoother than my roadbike and quicker than my mountain bike. I can feel the extra resistance of the semi-knobby tires compared to my road bike but that is to be expected. I have taken it on some single track and it handles very good! I love the fit, it feels like you are sitting in the bike instead of on it! Overall I would say it is exactly as described on BD...sort of a jack of all trades-master of none type bike!

Here's my bike which I use for commuting. Diamondback Copperhead (circa 2007) with rack & SPD pedals. Front tire: Continental Touring Plus. Rear tire: Continental City Contact. Just about everything has been repaired, replaced or upgraded at some point. Only change since this pic are the studded tires. It's gone through 3 years of 3 season commuting. This is my first winter of commuting so we'll see how the bike survives.

What bars are those? I'm looking for a set that has a lot of sweep but more reach, and those look like just the ticket. Do you have a shot of the bars from the cockpit?
