Mine is what they call a High Racer style. Your body is positioned fairly high above the axles. Those are 26" wheels and I have 4 blinkies on the back. The three you see here and one on the back of my helmet. I feel pretty visible to the cars.

My new commuter, a 1984 Centurion ProTour 15...

Got it from my good compadre Jon @ grinderbikes.com, I think he found it at a yard sale, and the thing is almost brand-spanking new. It still has the original tires on it, they look like they haven't been ridden more than 100 miles. We stuck fenders on it and a new set of aero brake levers, and that's pretty much it. Thing rides like a freight train, and I mean that in a good way.

Here is my fair-weather commuter, a '81 Takara given to me by my friend who can no longer ride bikes. I replaced the stock handlebars and added new aero brake levers, and mounted a pair of All Condition Armadillos on the stock wheels.

Good looking bike Map tester.
GT is right. Not as "nerdy" as I thought it would be.

However, it does have a geek light system.

Was the Brooks on the bike or did you swap saddles?
How do you like it?

I added the Honey brown Brooks B-17. I have a black B-17 on my other commuter, the Giant OCR Touring. After they are broken-in, they are very comfortable. In this heat, and my weight, it doesn't take too long to break them in.

Got fenders, new pedals, lights, new reflectors. A friend gave me a rack but I haven't put it on yet. Now I have two reflectors on the rear (four if you count pedal reflectors, but who can see those anyway?) and a tail light, but my front end only has a headlight, so I need to fix it up with a reflector or two too, plan on adding some reflective tape as well. Rides exellently, but the tires really do suck - I got them on sale a Wal-Mart a year ago for $2 each (regular price $4!), I think bell imports some with a reflective sidewall that are a bit higher quality, unless anybody knows what I can get in the 26 x 1 3/8" size that's better.

Less reflectors and more lights. An bright LED headlight or two will go well with the generator light.

The generator is more than adequate for lighting purposes, but of course goes out when I stop. Although one of those blinking LEDs would certainly be better than a reflector now that you mention it, I was meaning to get one for the rear already anyway. I just need to be seen when I'm at a stop, rather than to be able to see at a stop.
Thanks for the link to the tires.

Hi Domindart.
Nice bike. I don't see a rack so do you use a messenger bag or backpack?
How far is your commute? What parts of town do you ride through?
