How do you see difrence short wheelbase vs long?
And on what kind of roads?

My new Raleigh Redux 1 at the office. I'm currently wearing a backpack instead of using saddlebags, etc. Pros and cons on backpacks versus bags/racks?

I will be adding fenders for sure. Not sure what else this bike will need.

FYI: This is my first bike in 15 years. So glad to be back on two wheels.

Backpacks = a sweaty back.

I like wald folding baskets with a backpack inside. The lack of sweaty back plus the convenience of a backpack when you get to your destination. Sure it makes your bike heavier, but my commuter rig was never meant to be a lightweight and they're great for grocery trips too and fold up out the way when not in use.

I like the pizza as a carrot, I may have to try that!

From the looks of it I would say some sort of medical facility/office, amirite? ;)

I would definitely go rack and fenders, if your bike will accept both.

A friend has two Cannondale's in his barn, hanging from the ceiling. They never use them, such a shame....

I hope I can fab up some sort of long mudflaps like those for the fenders over my Big Apple tires on my e-bike. Perhaps I could glue 2 layers of inner tube together and then cut it to a "flap" shape.

Very itchy.

My Trek (The Black Mamba)!
 

So this is my commuter- its a Trek 2.0 SU that I purchased from a storage unit sale about two years ago. Its actually taken me that long to getting together the parts it was missing and finally having it on the road. When I first got it, it had no handlebars, no seat or post and the rear derailer was bent. I put all new cables on, replaced the derailer, bought the fenders, got a new seat & post, replaced the front rotor & rear brake caliper and had an over-all tune up done. The bags I got off Craig's List and the drink holder ( I find I enjoy a cup of coffee on the road and it holds my drink container perfectly) and cell phone holder can be found on Amazon. The bike was named "The Black Mamba" from a scene in "Megamind" where Minion makes a new cape for Megamind and dubs it it "The Black Mamba". Still getting used to this bike, but will start making the 22 mile round trips to work soon....

Hey nice bike! I just got one this January, all black model. Backpack works for a while but then it gets annoying with the load shifting around your back and causing sweat. Eventually a rack is a must, my coworker used saddlebags but recently got a Topeak brand bag with a solid base that locks on to his rack quick and securely, its pretty cool. I will try to attach a pic of my bike here. I've changed the seat to an elastomer seat, bars to a Metropolis FSA bar, a Ritchey adjustable stem, 3rd eye left mirror, cult grips, planet bike fenders, sunlite rear rack, a cheap frame bag, bottle rack, and not shown is a rear Niterider taillight and Niterider 750 headlight. A cheapo bike computer and a gopro session 4 with mount rounds up the mods.:)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this may be the replacement flap for these fenders (I can't remember if they were Planet Bike or SKS). Maybe they would also for yours? http://www.treefortbikes.com

Thanks, but those are for the 45mm version. I have the huge 65mm fenders, and they don't make mudflaps in that shape for that size, that I'm aware of. I think I'll have to come up with my own.

The day I took the MTB in, also happened to be a day that Bike Month held an Energizer Station in Folsom. I don't know why the resolution is so low

Most days I use my trusted Giant Toughroad for commuting (long) for work. I also have a HASA F2 foldable on some days where I need to either be fresh in suit or for meetings in CBD between trains.

I still need to put those plug-n-play (right) fenders on it. Bought them last year with the bike. Always find another excuse, like riding :D But I had a headset problem. The LBS rebuilt it and said that while the bearings were OK, it was nasty in there. And that was after just 2100 mi.

Switching up the saddlebags for a duffle. I prefer it compared to the saddlebags. Much easier to pack and walk with. Today I had to put my work laptop in it.

Specialized V2. They have a riveted bracket to mount into the back of a fork, but the fork on the bike has the mount under the fork. I have to drill out the bracket rivet and use the hole to mount from below.

I put the plug and play fenders on my sequoia and ended up removing them. the front fender "plug" attachment bar is right at foot level and has a minuscule amount of clearance between attachment bar and shoe toe. I kept breaking the plastic clamp that hold attachment bar to fender. It is a shame Specialized put such little thought into the fender design. Fenders made for each bike doesn't seem like too much to ask.

currently, i'm using an ortlieb sportpacker plus on my drive side and an Ortlieb Office bag on the other. the rack is an Axiom Streamliner DLX disc. for lights - a Cygolite Pro 150 on the back and a Cygolite Metro 1100 Lumen pro up front with a Lezyne Super GPS for a head unit. the Fenders are Planet Bike 35mm the for tires the GP4000II 28c. i keep a spare tube in saddlebag and a patch kit and i use a Topeak Racerock HP for a pump.

the only thing i plan on changing (for now) is upgrading the groupset to all Tiagra stuff to clean up the wires and improve shifting. the current set up works OK however, the front derailler is a little stiff and doesn't always shift right for me. otherwise, i love riding this thing

new to me; essentially stock untouched since 20-25 yrs ago... I didn't check who made the tires. All the rest of the components (including wheels) are Tom Ritchey. I am going to switch the pedals and saddle out but nothing else. Maybe some 2.35 big apples down the road.
