Yup, my trusty giro savant helmet. And i kind of put the balloon tires on as a joke, so my bike would be instantly recognizable (minor bike theft is on the rise here, but they are mostly unintelligent drug users who would try to sell it back to you) but i ended up loving the ride. So much cushion, very stable, and still capable on the road. I was averaging 18mph on the part of that ride with no stops for a few miles, which isn't much slower than my normal speed on the drop bar bike with skinnier tires.

I was staring at this for a minute, trying to figure out what the heck you were thinking with brake lever placement, until I realized those weren't just bullhorn bars... lol
that said, get some bar end on those things before you take a core sample of somebody.
edit: oh, and how do you like those Nanos? Been eyeballing them for the TCX

I have a single Nano on the front and a Specialized Fat Boy on the back. I am torn as to which tire I like more. I will say that the Nano has been AMAZING as far as handling, grip and control on and off the pavement. I would highly recommend those tires!
Ta!

Flatted on my (wet) day to work. Switched over to Schwalbe Marathon afterwards, no flat since.

Let the soul dangle.. simply cruising around without any direction, just finding new roads.

Right after I had build the bike. Missing the lights and rack.

I got the 'bent out St Patrick's day, it was a little chilly but still sunny and clear.
I love this bike.

Also used my Kona on the weekend to go to and fro, riding light and appreciating how well it handles these beat up roads.

Now we have another 8-10 inches of snow on the ground... it was nice while it lasted.

I've been buying frames and parts for years but finally broke down and bought my first "new" bike since 1994 - 2014 Fairdale Weekender Drop. After about a month of daily commutes this is configuration number 3 and though I hate the way the stem extender looks it works for my 50+ neck. If you're not familiar with Fairdale (and I wasn't either) it's a pretty cool company out of Austin. I'm loving this - looking forward to touring on it if the weather ever gets warm.

Yesterday, I installed Vittoria Voyager Hyper tires, rated at 37mm, measured at 35mm. They're huge, but they seem fast, and they're comfy.

Very funny, leegf.
I let my wife try Citibike. I had no idea she would love it so much. She signed up immediately and is impatiently awaiting her key.

Isn't that Bianchi in danger of someone renting it? Or does the lock stay keyed to a credit card or something?
If the latter, that's an intriguing idea. If bike-friendly businesses installed locking bike racks, and key in and out with your credit card. Charge a dollar for convenient, secure locking - I'd pay it.
