I've been buying frames and parts for years but finally broke down and bought my first "new" bike since 1994 - 2014 Fairdale Weekender Drop. After about a month of daily commutes this is configuration number 3 and though I hate the way the stem extender looks it works for my 50+ neck. If you're not familiar with Fairdale (and I wasn't either) it's a pretty cool company out of Austin. I'm loving this - looking forward to touring on it if the weather ever gets warm.

What I'm riding now:
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=440946http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=440947 New for 2015 are the rack and trunk bag. I grew weary of the backpack. |

I let my wife try Citibike. I had no idea she would love it so much. She signed up immediately and is impatiently awaiting her key. |
Nice E46 M3 in the pic, I love those cars. :)

If the latter, that's an intriguing idea. If bike-friendly businesses installed locking bike racks, and key in and out with your credit card. Charge a dollar for convenient, secure locking - I'd pay it. |
It was just a joke, wphamilton. I docked the bike, snapped a photo, and resumed the remainder of my journey.

Isn't that Bianchi in danger of someone renting it? Or does the lock stay keyed to a credit card or something?

Clever idea, but it would have to be as convenient as these docking stations but somehow it would need to lock the frame and both wheels.

I wonder how much those stations cost?
I want to see these in our country. Underground Bicycle Parking in Japan - Video Dailymotion |

Of course, there's always bike lockers, which most of the stations have now. Better idea since you can leave things like helmets and accessories on the bike, and none of it can be seen without breaking into the locker. |
Well at least if somebody steals your bianchi track fixie, you might be able to get the city to help track them by their credit card!

WestMass, do you love your lights?
|
with the Herrmans H-Track tail light http://www.amazon.com/Herrmans-H-Tra...=herrmans+tail Excellent lights! |
schweeeeet. Front disk and rear canti's? I don't think I've ever seen that before. |
I "upgraded" my carbon fork that came on this bike to a CroMo steel Kona Project 2 fork for the disc tabs and the rack mounts. I also upgraded the core rear canti with some Avid Shorty Ultimates.

I'm still really digging this bike. Looks like a perfect commuter. Do you carry any flat repair stuff on you?
Don't carry a repair kit- if I have a puncture (knock on wood), the NYC subway system will rescue me :twitchy:
