Bikes: 1950 Sun Wasp (fixed wheel), 1972 Peugeot UE-8, 1976 Raleigh Super Course, 1975 Raleigh Competition, 1981 Nishiki International, 1986 Miyata 210, 1988 Schwinn Voyager

Last week due to odd sticky road conditions I was forced to take a detour through a park that follows my route home through city neighborhoods. The snow had a frozen layer of ice on top which went well with my deflated studded Schwalbe tires. Interesting day.

Sadly, the pink computer was replaced before I figured out the light was causing interference. The new one is b&w and boring. I love color on my bike(s) but no one else seems to; it's difficult finding affordable accessories that aren't black. Heck, I can't even find decals that aren't b&w. BTW, I really like my clear silicone grips on my silver bars; it's the rest of the bike that's boring.

My Peugeot Premiere en route to work yesterday morning. I took the photo inspired by the glorious sunrise, unfortunately it didn't come out on the photo.
Nice to be cycling into work in sunglasses and without winter gloves though!

Now I'm an advocate of larger frame sizes, but that's not even a 'fistful' of post! Hope it fits you like that

Well, a cat's fistful, maybe....

You have to take in overall geometry. Perhaps the next smaller frame would be too short in the top tube.

Watch out; mysterious grey moor-fog-beast about to attack from the lower left foreground......

Hey, you're in Weston-Super-Mare! I have no idea where that is (west-ish I think), but from living in UK for two years a long time ago, the wife & I still sometimes just blurt out 'Weston-Super-Mare', because there was a game show with a presenter with a funny accent that said that all the time. I don't remember the show's name, but it was a silly outdoors laypeople-failing-at-stunts kind of thing, along the lines of Wipe-Out, I think.

A "splash" of pink?

Pink enough for you?.....

I especially get compliments from women about this helmet, even while riding with my wife. I just got it because this color was on sale (golly, why?...). People see it.

Pink story 1 - walking on the Capitol square, wearing my bright pink Chuck Taylor high-tops, bunch of "dudes" hangin' outside the McDonalds, sounding cool, etc. As I go by, middle of their cool-speak conversation, one of them stops what he's saying, points at my Chuckies and says "Man, them are some PINK-@$$ shoes!"

Pink story 2 - on a diesel truck forum I frequent, members often recommend a diesel-specific anti-freeze that happens to be dyed pink. One member bought a truck that was already running this brand, and drained it out because he couldn't stand the thought of having pink coolant in his truck.

Did he get it from Heini's?

I believe Chappelle lives in OH nowadays, so he actually may be able to shop there!

Ha, yeah, it's a 24 inch frame, so a bit of a gate, and the 175mm crankset doesn't help. It fits very well though, my favourite bike to ride; oddly enough my other preferred bike is a Gitane with a 22 inch frame. I've found I've had to drop the saddle on all my bikes by about half an inch since my accident to compensate for the loss of movement in my ankle.

Yep, the West Country. I've got a vague memory of that program but I can't think for the life of me what it was called, or who the presenter was. Let me know if you remember

Got tired of my old MTB, so I sold it and bought an old beat up touring bike for commuting duties. I just need something to wrench on and tinker with. It's a Commander, which is a lesser known German brand. Don't know anything about it and cannot find any info either.
Anyway, here's a pic after yesterday's morning commute.

If it's German, you should refer to it as Der Kommander (Kommandante?). Sounds more menacing

Might as well call it der Führer But naah, judging by the quality of the frame, it doesn't deserve being called commander

Nutcase has a pretty large verity of eye-catching designs. These twojust came to mind...

Here's my free-99 commuter. Found next to a dumpster added some spare parts and now serves as my commuter/beater bike. I'll be swapping out the fork for a steel rigid soon.

My front panniers, not shown, are Axiom Oceanweave panniers.
The front rack bag is a system of three bags, one on top, and one hanging to each side. It is a ten plus year old bike nashbar branded bag.
