What kind of bags do you have on your rack?

Introducing the "FogCatcher". Narrow, hi-speed road, dark, fog. Any questions?

:( Great, thanks for point these out, and they are now on sale. I think I might order some to replace the ugly milk crate on the bike now.

I highly recommend them, especially for $10 each. they also include a neon-colored raincover hidden in a pocket on the bottom. They sag a bit with really heavy stuff (case of soda or gallon of milk), but they are quite useful. I keep one of them on the bike at all times.

Yeah...I'm not a hardcore ride in the drops kind of guy.....they were raised about as high as they could functionally go. Now I'm swapping them out altogether for trekking bars.

That's a cool setup. What kind of rack is that on the front, and how is it attached. I couldn't make it out from the picture.

Lamplight 07-28-07 08:51 AM

That looks like the Nashbar front rack I have. It's a handy little booger, especially considering how little it costs!

Uh, they didn't look particularly high to me, they are not even at seat level. Roadies might think they are too low, but hey, it's your transportation to work, not the Tour de France. Nothing wrong with being able to enjoy the view on your commute/tour/whatever.

canadiantire bikes

i have always rode supercycle [canadiantire brand] bikes and find them durrable, i ride all year round all 240 lbs , i much prefer winter tahn summer roding, i also own a ironhorse maverik comuter that i bought this june , its a great bike , but i mostly use my supercycle thrill and have had no problems[it's a heavy beast especially up hill , but i love it , it sure makes riding other bikes a breeze, again it seems to me that supercycle is durable bikes for those who can't afford the name brands.

dm-tm 07-28-07 07:59 PM

I had some spare parts lying around, so I figured a road bike with 26" MTB tires would be a fun ride.

Yep. $10.00 plux a $6.00 basket from target. Attaches the cantilever studs.

An old commuter bike i got from a neighbor. I have no choice but to sell it since it's way too small for me, and no one else in the house wants it.

While my cross bike is down...

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...srxcslicks.jpg

Observations:
Instead of kids calling me nerd or geek I get alot of "cool bike" comments from the non-biking crowd.
I can't catch roadies anymore and they all look at me like I'm totally ******** now.
Much to my surprise, my commute takes only 5-10 minutes longer than my cross bike over 13 miles. (10-30% longer)
It's kinda fun running right over every pothole and jumping onto and off every curb. :p

Track frame, single speed (45x18).....nothing really fancy but cheap, fun and durable.

MyBikeGotStolen 07-30-07 06:45 PM

How you like that Mercier? I think I'm going to end up ordering one soon. If bikesdirect ever gets on in my size.
