I've had a black Louis Garneau for years and it is still like new. It requires four hands to put it on, but once on, it works like a charm. I leave it on all winter to block the helmet vents.

I use this: helmet rain cover.

It has a nice flap down the back to stop rain going down your back; it has a nice big brim to stop rain going in your eyes/on your glasses; has a velcro flap in the back for rear helmet lights; and it comes in bright yellow with reflectors.

I run a helmet light on the front inside the cover and I look like a giant blinking lemon. Who wouldn't slow down when they saw a giant blinking lemon?

Good point; I could certainly have used something on the way home yesterday. I'm on nashbar right now buying the LG helmet cap in bright yellow, fenders and a rack. They have a sale going on right now, till tomorrow I think; I'll post it in the coupon forum too

My Specialized helmet has a big opening for air on the front of the helmet (see that black space on the bottom of the helmet at the front), sorta like this:

I've found it's not to bad if I tuck the helmet cover just above the opening, and leave some space open on the back for air to flow out of the helmet.

was just reviewing my old attachments library & came across this thread. I guess you are the rider that gave me this tip! THANK YOU, been using them ever since! totally forgot the note about ventilation holes!

I have a Jandd helmet cover that I use. It does the trick, but is hot in warm weather.

I have a Sugoi in the Hi-viz yellow, works for me and I like the added visibility.
