Where do you park your bike at work? What kind of lock do you have?

I put mine in the office bike storage room, which was created at one of the building entrances for bike commuters. I don't lock it, neither does anyone else, though the building door is locked.

I use a cheap spiral cable and a combination lock. It is about 5 feet directly outside my office window. The only reason I really lock it is so it doesn't get tipped over by people walking by it or the wind. There are no non-employees whatsoever.

We have a patrolled, gated parking garage, and to top it off, a nice corba rack (the big helical tube). I use a mini u-lock, and have keyed skewers, because I also lock my bike in other, more sketchy areas.
+1 on the protective colouration of an unimpressive bike. It's a Surly Long Haul Trucker, in fact a very nice bike, but the olive green frame, fenders, and heavy-duty black rack do not scream "expensive bike." Personally I like the utilitarian aesthetic anyway.

It's leaning against the warehouse door. I can see it if I look to the left while sitting at my desk.
My lock is a Kryptonite.. uhh.. one of those grey ones, not sure what it's called. Not the lowest model, but not the highest either.

Mine comes in and sits right outside my cube which is in a corner of the production area. It's an all cement floor so there is no worry when the bike is wet. It never gets locked and no one ever bothers it. Pretty nice set up really.

A medium-duty kryptonite U-lock and cable with medium-duty padlock stay at the bike rack at my hospital's parking garage, within view of garage cashiers. Lots of visitors and employees driving by all day and security cruises by regularly. My bike visits it's security gear once or twice a week.
Shocked to find another recumbent (same model as mine) parked at the rack last week.

At my job I can put my bike in an unused vestibule. I can otherwise but it in a room in the basement. I don't have to worry about locking it since its inside and I'm the only one working overnights.

bike rack outside a ymca. ussaly no more than 5 other bikes at any given time, most have cable locks. a coworker doesn't even use a lock. i have seen walmart bikes, decent mtb bikes, all carbon road bikes locked with a cheap 20 dollar ulock.
i have two ulocks. mini onguard pitbull. and Kryptonite Kryptolok Series 2. i do want to upgrade ulocks, waiting for something new from krypto. maybe something safer and lighter, i want a cable lock so i can use it for odd shape objects.

I work at three locations.
At one library, I park in a staff workroom (no pics).
At a second library, I park in the janitor's closet.
Yellow Bike visits with its friend, Yellow Mop Bucket.
My other job is at a suburban church office. It's not exactly a high crime location, so I can lock to a railing with just one U-lock.

I work in the backroom of a huge retail store, and there's storage bins all around -- one has a hook attached near the top, where my bike hangs -- bout 8 feet from my work area! Been doing that for nine years now, no mgmt. issues, they know it's more expensive than anything they sell, and they kinda wanna keep me around.

In my office, right next to my desk. One of these days I'll figure out how to sit on the bike while using my desktop PC, since the Rans recumbent seat is actually comfier than my office chair.

I lock my beater bike (some type of women inspired Schwinn) up to a handicap sign with a New Yorker U-lock.

If I ride my beater bikes, I cable lock and u-lock my bike to the the strong iron fence around the parking lot. If I ride one of my good bikes, I park it inside in the conference/storage/breakroom.
The reason I don't take my beaters inside is because they are heavy boat anchors. I carry my bike down stairs when I go home, so the beaters can stay outside.

My Trek 7.3 FX is parked in the bike rack outside. It's under a roof, but otherwise open for all. I secure the frame and front wheel to the rack with a U-lock. Usually, my helmet hangs on the U-lock as well. A cable lock secures the rear wheel to the frame.

I park mine on the main floor at the base of the stairway, out of the way. I don't have a lock, nobody's going to bother it. I don't even lock when I leave it outside a store in town, but that's the nature of the town I'm in.

Bike parking @ Work
I park mine in my cubicle at work as well. It beats walking out to the front gate where the bike racks are in my bike shoes with all my gear. This way I can get to any thing I need in my bike bag easily without removing it each day and reattaching it afterwork for the ride home. I haven't asked to park it there, just decided to do it and see what happens. No complaints so far and have been doing so for a number of years.

I park mine outside on a bike rack that is cemented into the sidewalk (not allowed to bring in the building), so I use a Kryptonite heavy chain lock to lock the front wheel and frame to the rack, and a small Kryptonite cable lock to lock the rear wheel to the frame.
Does anyone leave their bike attached to a rack in the rain? I would like to start commuting on rainy days, but I can't stand the thought of leaving my San Jose out in the weather all day for fear of destroying it. What do you do to keep the bike in good shape?

I am very fortunate, I park my bike in my office. The building is very secure and if someone left with it it would be on film.

I have always used a side stairwell to store my bike, I am lucky to have it.
It would be nice to park the bike in a cube near me during the day, but I might spend too much time looking at it and daydreaming.

I do that. Sometimes I just kinda fade out early if noone is watching me.
