45º with showers this morning.

I've gotten used to mid 70's already...hate the cold.

So unless someone here convinces me to ride in this weather (which I greatly detest) I've relegated myself to driving to the pool this morning.

I have mixed feelings about rain this time of year. I enjoy winter but by March I'm ready for a change. So while rain is part of spring and in that sense welcome, snow is much more pleasant to ride in as long as it hasn't been coming down too hard for too long.

Anyway, I'm sure the weather will clear up for you soon enough and you'll be back up in the 70's. Looks like rain and 40's or 50's (woohoo) all week here. I'll be riding every day except for Thursday.

We're looking forward to it getting up into the 40s this week. I totally wouldn't mind 45 and rain right now, it would probably melt most of the snow and ice. As long as it stopped before evening so it could run off the roads before freezing.

Mind if I ask? How's weather, living and biking in Tucson? How long have you lived there? Like it? I'd like to move South some time and heard good things about Tucson.

Tucson's amazing, Adam. Good bike paths, usually tolerant drivers, bike accessible city, etc. It usually only takes 10-20 extra minutes to ride than drive almost anywhere. My work is 14 miles from home...takes me 25-35 to drive, 40-45 to ride.

Best part is there's usually about 350 days of sun. Which means we only have 2-3 more days of no sun for this year left...ha! Great public pools, too, for those summer months.

Wait...you don't want to get wet, so you're going to drive...to the POOL...mmm hmm...

It confirms what I've heard so far about Tucson. I need to move to some place with more sunny days, so that's one of the reasons I considered Tucson. Another reason that it's closer to great outdoors, and third reason there are universities there that I may be able to get a job at. I'm an IT guy for a university and would like to stick to academic environment. I may even find some contacts in Tucson as I'll start planning this more aggressively. I suffer from depression that just doesn't seem to want to go away and NYC climate isn't helping me. So change of climate is something I'm seriously considering. I'd like to live a cycling lifestyle too. I'd keep the car, but I'd like to be able to do most of my errands by bike and that's not easy in NYC. Thanks a lot!

I guess I still prefer my bike in the rain over my truck. I was driving around on Saturday and by the end of the day I was in a really bad mood. Probably wouldn't have happened on my bike.

I don't want to be wet and cold! Pool is for tri training and opening up my back.

Riding in the rain puts a lot of my stuff at risk, as I can't keep much at work. Life as a massage therapist isn't a kushy as many would have you believe.

You'll love Tucson. There's some good stuff in the university area, and lots of great bike routes around there, as well.

HOWEVER ~ I love riding in foul weather and it is the most fun I've had on a bike!

I love rain riding when it's warm out...amazing. But cold water, I'll pass.

I'm thinking about taking a couple of weeks off next month and check out Tucson. It's my time for short vacations anyway. We usually go to Florida, but this should be more interesting. I'll drive and take our bikes with us How's the weather there? Do you suppose it'll be warm enough next month for camping? Thanks!

it's all about the gear and clothes. the right suff makes any weather doable. but gear can be annoying.

It's supposed to rain this afternoon...I have a pair of rain pants and a poncho strapped to my toolbag - we'll see how this goes. I wish I had spats as well.

I got tired of soaking wet shoes so I got a pair of Tingley overboots. mine have a funky single rubber button solution but the zip ups look attractive.

SS- How was your swim and which triathlon are you training for?

It should be plenty warm for camping in the lower (elevation wise) parts of AZ next month! It's gorgeous out here.

I love swimming...so it's almost always a great swim. I'm training for the Tucson Triathlon. It's a sprint...1/2 mi swim, 12 mi ride, 3 mi run.
