The video looks real to me and I get a sense that the cyclist did inch slightly to his left...possibly a jerk reaction to the initial sound of the impact of the cars, without having a clue as to what actually happened. An experienced cyclist, aware of 'normal' hazards to his left may have been self disciplined and conditioned enough to automatically avoid swerving into possible approaching traffic from behind despite what is happening around him.
After saying that, I don't know what is capable of being produced in the studio with modern technology. I can only say that I've never seen Hollywood produce anything quite so realistic. But they tend to always favour more pizazz and sizzle and this just didn't have enough spark and smoke.

On the other hand, just look how fast the cyclist entered the intersection. I mean he was flying.

The writing at the top of the video is Chinese. It says "Sunday".
The bus looks like one of the newer public transport buses here in Chengdu.
In the top left corner you can see the bicycler lane for those heading towards the camera.
That doesnt look like a bike to me but one of the very common trikes here. All of them were pedal powered, but this one looks like it is the more common battery powered ones.
Damn lucky. I sometimes worry about being taken out by something like that, then I learnt to stop worrying. It doesnt help, there is nothing you can do. Now I just worry about the stuff I can affect.

yea, that looks real. I've seen a number of traffic accidents, a few where people were killed, one that had a car clipped by another car that then hit me. The cyclist didn't react because of the time involved, probably about 2 seconds which is actually kinda slow for most accidents. Unlike TV shows real car crashes happen in a split second about the time it takes you to blink.
That is one lucky cyclist..

If you look at the Video. The Biker slowed down (as if he hit the Brakes) just before the car crossed infront of him. Also I noted a Vapor trail of smoke fellowing the bike as it left the view. This Leads me to beleave it to be true. But you never know....
