Commuter Tires

I commute from Brooklyn to Manhattan for work and have gotten 2 flats in the last week. Can anyone recommend some good tiers that might help me avoid this problem and also any deals on them if you know of any.

Thanks

I use 700x32 panaracer urban max tires with slime tubes from Performance bike. Have only flatted twice with this set up in over two years of 3-4 day a week commute on pretty bad roads including a short dirt section with star thisle all over it and the ever present broken glass almost every day somewhere along the way. The flats that I did get, the slime tubes allowed me to get all the way to where I was going before it was completly flat.

You will pay a premium for tires that are almost flat proof like the specialized armadillos($40 ea tire) and schwalbe marathon plus($45 ea tire). But if you don't want flats and don't want to repair them on the road, they are priceless. If you don't want to spend so much, a good compromise is Mr. Tuffy tire liners. They help a great deal. About $10-15 for a pair.

Speciallized Armadillos are the way to go.
Last week a staple had embedded into the center of the rubber in mine. I pulled it out without any issues.
