You might want to check out Duluth Trading Co. The gloves they sell are for folks like carpenters who need dexterity. They are well built and don't have the mark-up a pure sports glove would have. Try windproof fleece gloves, REI or such. I have had good luck with some windproof cross country ski gloves.
