Another humid windy day here. I was going to do some extra miles on the way home this afternoon, but my legs were tired, the wind was fierce, and a dishwasher was waiting at home to be installed, so I just rode straight home.
I'm flying to DC in the morning, so no rides for the next three days.

Really hot today, but a great ride nonetheless. It's getting easier to commute the more I do it, plus in the five weeks since I've started commuting 3 days a week, I've lost over 6kg!

Another perfect spring ride...bike to work day is today, not too many on the road but more than usual. I suspect more will be out later this morning.

Ride in today was muggy, humid, and warm. I didn't see a single other bike on the roads.
At least it's Friday. I always play reggae music at my desk and wear Hawiian shirts on Fridays. It's like being on vacation at my desk, without the vacation.

First 20km was great, then heard a crunchy-metallic snapping sort of noise, then again. Turned out to be two broken spokes on the same side and section of the rear wheel, which is now pretty warped... bummer. Finished the ride (last 8km) just riding, didn't want to stress it any harder.
Very nice morning out, even with the light fog we had.

Gorgeous weather to honor our local Spring BTWD. I honored the day by being single mode -- riding all the way from home to work (*and therefore, returning this afternoon) which is ~19 miles. Completed the ride in under an hour and twenty minutes, which is pretty awesome for me. Saw literally hundreds of bike commuters, though most of them were stopped at the big pit stop near the White House. Plenty on the roads, too, though.

Pretty nice ride in this morning: ~50F with some dampness. Being my third week commuting I was happy to be able to get in the three rides this week (I rode 2 days last week). I'm hoping to be able to ride 4 days next week.

10C, sunny, bit of a breeze. Funny how it can feel like you're riding into a headwind, but when you stop at a light, it's barely a breeze.
On the way home last night, I got two random compliments on my bike. The first was a pedestrian* in a crosswalk where I was stopped for a light ("Love the classic bike!") and the second was a driver who stopped in the middle of the road next to me where I was waiting to make a left turn ("Nice bike! I used to have one just like it!").
Well, it is a pretty nice bike:
(*if Sixty Fiver is reading this: I think the pedestrian was your buddy A. with the big dog.)

Bike to work day today, I thought about driving just to be contrary.
I dragged my 19-year old daughter out of bed, and we rode to a local park where the BTWD festivities were starting, rode from there to downtown with the mayor and a few dozen of his closest friends.
Now I'm at work, but I'm meeting up with my daughter again for lunch.

Nice commute this morning, except a school bus honking at me. I was sprinting as fast to get past this busy high school and a school bus came up behind me. The driver honked at me and then preceded to pull over to the side of the road in front of the school about 100 feet later.
Nice weather, cloudy and a bit humid and about 65*. No other bikes on my route this morning for BTWD. I did see a few on Wednesday afternoon, so I will count that as a win. I also found out yesterday at a work meeting that one of the guys from the DOT rides to work a few times a week, that made me happy to hear!
I am pleased, I did 4 days this week, which I think is pretty good for only my second week this year.

That IS a beautiful Bianchi. I used to have one just like it -- my first really nice roadbike -- but I stupidly sold it a few years ago. Regretted it ever since.
I had an extra-long (and wet) commute day due to Bike to Work Day. The official event was downtown, so I added an extra 5 miles so I could attend, but unfortunately a line of rain showers also showed up. I got caught in heavy rain at the 10-mile point, right neary my office, so I ducked inside for about 15 minutes to wait out the storm. By the time I got downtown, all of the BTWD events were over and there were no donuts, coffee or freebies for the few hardy cyclists who showed up. That was a bust, but at least I'll rack up 32 miles commuting today.

Just nothing but gorgeous. No coat today but I did wear long sleeves. Brought a t-shirt for the ride home. Back to La Niņa tomorrow it sounds like though.
Also there were duelling bike-to-work kiosks at the trailhead today. But I had lingered at home so didn't stop for more breakfast and more coffee (my mug was still full) and more cheesy bike stuff (although my kids might have benefited from some of that... oh well maybe my wife will grab some when she rides in later)

Nice weather for the ride in, and rode past a bunch of garage sales today. Some had bikes out, but nothing that interesting for me. But there was one that had something extremely interesting across the street from a very determined woman pushing an empty stroller that didn't want me to slow down and look at things. I just rode around her and kept on going.

Yesterday I had my speed clocked by some bored cops stationed right after the red light. That was a little exciting
Today was bike to work day, of course, and I was glad to see that there were plenty of cyclists out today and at the pitstop.
