Rain hit me with about 4 miles to go. Good thing I'm waterproof! :-)

Yet Another Nice Day, if a bit humid. 70F/21F, sunny. Little wind. I passed 3 cyclists within 2 miles of leaving my house. Very unusual. Saw a few more going the other way. More runners out, too. Supposed to be up near 90F/32C this afternoon. I didn't see any more cyclists going my way but I did "catch" a guy at a red light and rode uphill with him for the last couple hundred yards of my commute.

Oh yeah, I saw 3 domestic cats during my ride. Weird.

Sweaty, thanks to the humidity and a stiff headwind. Looking forward to a wind-assist on the way home.

Nearly ate it this morning. Had my pannier loaded down, took a turn from a light cycling up to 3rd gear, went a bit too fast and got myself in the grass. Luckily I saved it but for a second there I really thought I was going to lay it down.

Other than that it was an awesome ride. I blew past a few students on MTB's, hit a new max speed on the new bike (34mph) and kept up with auto traffic nearly my whole way in. I am starting to really love bike commuting. Not worrying about a parking space is extra cool.

Not so good today. Just missed the ferry in both directions (morning and afternoon), and almost got hit by a right turning driver on the way home.

I need a break tomorrow.

Very pregnant wife asked me to take the train, so that I can actually make a decent dinner tonight. Considering we are scheduled for temps of 100+ I didn't complain too much... but looking out the window just now.... sigh...

I would like to thank this morning's headwind for improving the quality of my "training" miles...

Decided to add a couple km to the ride in this morning to kick it just above 30. Great weather, sunny and beautiful in Southern Ontario.

Nice ride in this morning at 10C/52F. Took a 25km route that avoided Burnaby Mountain because I'm low on tubes and didn't want to get another flat halfway up. I've been having horrible luck with flats this last week.

Not sure how I didn't make contact with a car on a right hook. We may have actually touched but I'd slowed so much that point I didn't feel it. Part of it might have been avoided if I hadn't yelled in the middle of it, which caused him to slam on his brakes (while still blocking the bike lane with half his car). I might have been able to swerve around him if he'd kept going. As it was, 2 fistfuls of brakes and turning my wheel parallel to his at the last second saved me from a major impact with his rear passenger side door. Had really shaky legs the last 3 miles in to my work.

Awesome commute this morning. About 75 degrees and I had my act together enough that I could stop at a lake and swim for about 20 minutes along the beach.

Tri-gear dries off pretty quick but the dampness kept me cool for most of the ride in. I need to start more days this way. It's supposed to be much cooler today so it should be a nice ride home too.

I made it home at least 10 minutes faster than normal. I stopped at the Oriental store for Chinese 5 spice and the Mexican grocery store for smoked hamhocks and was still ahead of normal time.
However, this morning was a grind. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes. This commute is probably too long for my Big Dummy.

Bikes: I have five of brikes

still disgustingly hot this morning. we're expecting a high of 95 today, ughhh. it's too early to be this hot.

wind pattern changes tonight though and with a NE wind coming off the lake, temps tomorrow morning at immediate shoreline areas are supposed to be in the upper 50s! i can't friggin wait! though there is 40% chance of t-storms as well. you can't have the good without the bad i suppose.

TJ - did you go for a run after your bike ride to make it a true Tri?

10C, grey and breezy this morning. Still feeling sore/tender from the weekend brevet, and I may take tomorrow off the bike to see if I can speed the healing a bit.

Beautiful. Still chilly enough to need a light shell up top to cut the wind - mid 50's F. It's supposed to be a sunny 75 degree day today.

The ride in was nearly perfect - I only hit 2 red lights the entire way in. Oh, and the tail end of a train.

It's hot today. So hot that it fried drivers' minds enough to disable their ability to drive in a straight line. Cars all over the place made the commute extra exciting. Moving feels good, but stopping allows the sweat to catch up.

Not today.

I've done that before when getting ready for a race. I'll drop the bike off at the office and then go for a run. My legs will be feeling it all day and I tend to get sleepy in the afternoon when I do that.

Left two hours late which meant sundown before starting a 2-hour ride, temp dropping through the 50's and me without a jacket so... cut it short and headed for the train station about 1/4 of the way down, only to find the train delayed by an accident. Ended up only saving a few minutes (warm ones, though). Similar to last week when I drove to save time and with traffic the trip actually took longer than riding! Should have just been cold and gone for it

Good ride home last night. Not as crowded on the MVT as it had been on Monday, which was nice.

Speedy commute in today. Took my new alternate route over to the MVT (Slaters Ln). Only second time going that way. Traffic was backed up from the GW Pkwy pretty far, but I was happily able to carefully split the lane and filter through about 750 feet of jammed traffic. Ah... gotta love that feeling! Made great time the rest of the way in, averaging about 16 mph and making at least as good of time as the motor traffic on the Parkway.

Temp was already up around 80 for the AM commute, and the high today's supposed to be around 100. Good times... :-\

Same here. Well, it was slightly misty at my place, but I left it behind. The sun was coming up as I topped the ridge, nice.

Spring has finally arrived in NorCal, just a couple of weeks before summer officially starts. It was gorgeous this morning.

Wonderful commute today. Around 60F on the way in, 65F the way back. First nice day in a long time, and I remembered to wear sunscreen too so no sunburn! I'm getting in better shape too, I didn't stop to rest at all on the way home (20 miles - quite an accomplishment for me) so it only took an hour and a half.
