Hey... you look familiar. We met on one of the CM rides (or one of those other downtownish group rides), didn't we? I pass your house now and again, although with the construction by the freeways I tend to cross I-20 a little further east these days.

Thought I'd post a pic of my son since he's much handsomer than his dad:

He loves his KaZAM run bike; he's been riding it around the house all winter. Can't wait for spring to watch him ride it up and down the block.

Interesting concept. I remember someone saying that the quickest way to teach a kid to ride a bike is to remove the pedals and have them push away with their feet for a while and learn to use the brakes. Once they get the balance and braking down put the pedals on and it off they go.

Exactly my reasoning for buying him the bike. That way when he's ready to graduate to a bigger bike he already has the hard part mastered, leaving him free to concentrate on pedaling and braking. There are a lot of run (AKA balance) bikes out there, but the KaZAM was available locally, was relatively cheap (~$90), and I like the little foot platform that it comes with.

yep, I'm 52 this year. I did NOT want to be seen in public in that suit. After that I had no choice but to shave my head and join the Corps.

I guess I was too dorky to wear those back then, and now I'm glad I didn't!

Thanks, Carl! You may notice a strong resemblance to the blue Schwinn Peloton you saw me on last June. When that pic of the Litespeed was taken, it was borrowing Blue's components. Just last weekend I swapped them back and installed new components on the Litespeed. Waiting on the weather for the first ride.

Not CM. I tried to sell you my Cannondale tourer at the Swap Meet, though. We may have chatted about my stainless Crescent at Colonel's once, too.
