Me and the missus on a bike picnic at the park. More recent, with a lowly normal 'stache.

And for giggles, one from when I was still sporting my handlebars (considering growing them back for the simple fact I have moustache handlebars on the bike now).

My avatar is an iteration (albeit cooler) of me for when I was playing Eve Online.

You know, I find it very hard to take decent self-portraits. I suck. That was supposed to be "nonchalant."

Seriously... women are the indicator species when it comes to cycling and when you see more women you know that the infrastructure is suitable.
We are close to 2% ridership here and the genders are well represented although male cyclists still outnumber female cyclists by a fair margin.

Portaging the bike...

I do walk a little slower... daughter caught me at the top of the mountain.

From a tweed ride... although I did not have to change much.

I know that those girls are around. But they're the sidewalk riding type or riding rust buckets because it's convenient. I know, I know, it sounds elitist of me but I was implying the serious commuters and cyclists in general. In fact in my group rides me at 23, I'm the youngest one there regardless of gender. And I meant the members here. We have plenty of ladies but only the guys are posting pics (yes I'll join ya as soon as I can get my gf to take my pic of me spandexed out). And at bike shops too, the roadies buying stuff are all old men. I polled my classmates on UofL and none of the girls have ever thought of riding a bike more than a mile down the sidewalk. Most of my communications class didn't even know it was illegal to do so. sigh. I feel like a cycling island at UofL

College age women have less disposable income than old men and probably don't want to spend what little they have on roadie stuff.

There are lots of young women riding around here and they're serious cyclists but they aren't the spandex wearing type that's going to spend $2k on a road bike and accessories. They'll spend $200 on a SS/fixed gear instead and ride in "regular" clothes depending on how you define that.
If you want to see some like-minded, spandex clad young women on road bikes, find some triathlon training club ride or better yet, get into racing. It's still going to be mostly men though.

I don't see that many women dressed in skin tight spandex riding high end road bikes (but one can dream) but the cycling world is much bigger than that... see and know lots of regular women who ride.
If you want to meet ladies while cycling get a 3 speed roadster with a basket and a cute dog.

I chatted with one, another ignored me (I was on the 'bent that day), the other I couldn't catch.
