So the 2012 models are coming out...
And noticed that quite a few models that I had my eye on are no longer available
.- including some well regarded models like the Redline 925. Finally found a shop that can/will order something other than Redline CX/BMX and the three models that i was going to inquire about (925, Metro 9, and Metro Disc) have been dropped from their line.
Anyone else having to edit their 'short lists'?

Bikes: I have 3 singlespeed/fixed gear bikes
My lust for dark framed SS/FG bikes is as great as my lust for brunnete women. I am trying real hard, to control myself from purchasing another bike, I already have 3.. and they all dark and sexy(bikes). I don't really need anymore. But who knows.. maybe I'll just break down a buy another bike, when I see a good deal.

Rocky Mountain already told me that they won't be shipping any Sherpa 30s to the United States this year, so that's crossed off my list. :-(

On a side note, I emailed the local Trek store about the possibility and cost of ordering an Earl with the S2C hub installed. Was informed that another wheel would have to be ordered, which would run an additional $200-$250 over the cost of the bike itself

I've rode a Scott SUB20 and didn't like the ride very much. I think it's similar to the SUB 30 and 40, but has Alivio crank and Deore brakes and derailleur. It was pretty rough on all but the smoothest roads, but admittedly it was quicker than my current ride, Marin Muirwoods 29er, or felt that way at least.
The bikes you listed are mostly cro-moly or aluminum fram with carbon forks. The Scott SUB bikes are aluminum frame and fork, at least my SUB20 was, so that might be something to look out for.
The Scott SUB20 I tried would have been around $550 IIRC. They had it at the REI store, but I would have had to order online from REI Outlet because they had a 20% off online-only, not valid in store, coupon.
