Suunto T6 alarm volume??
A bit off-topic, but this does seem a pretty active, opinionated, and involved crew so I'll take my chances...
I finally splurged on a Suunto T6. I like it. The one thing I've noticed is that the alarm is nearly inaudible. I do have a bit of high frequency hearing loss, but this is over the top. Working at the computer in a quiet room I couldn't hear it go off. For me, it might as well not be there.
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the model or my specific watch. Anyway, the decisions I'm trying to make...
1) Return it? No. I like it. Even if the alarm is supposed to suck as much as mine does.
2) Return for service? Suunto will take it back and turn it around. If the alarm is faulty, then I'm good. If there is nothing wrong with it, then they may charge me for the hassle (not sure how much).
I've gone to a few spots where I thought I could find a T6 to test alarm, but to date I have not been able to find one to test sound off. Tried a couple of local boutique fitness stores and an REI. So far, no good.
Does anyone know--
-- does the alarm suck that bad?
-- is there a retailer (greater DC area) that has some demos I can comparison test?

I have a different Suunto, and the alarm sounds pretty good on mine. Send it for service. Their US service is great, and they probably won't charge you, especially for a new watch with poor sound. Insure when posting and include a letter.
