Beaut ride to work this morning for two-thirds of the way, then a headwind. Sunny, tho, and temperature pleasant 13 deg C. My trusty commute/touring/brevet bike clicked over 25,000km as well.
|
Low 50'sF & light fog this mornin'. 'Bout 75F & lite north breeze this afternoon. Didn't ride yesterday stayed up too late Sunday eve.
Thinking about challenging myself to ride everyday that I work in September. I'm really behind in the milage catagory this year. |

14 degrees C and light drizzle this morning. Another moronic horn-leaner in Surfers, but I'm far to arrogant to care about idiots like that anymore. Big cross-breeze of the ocean generating plenty of ocean spray. Should be an interesting ride home. |
As I got into Midtown I had a motorist sit on my wheel for a few blocks which annoyed me a little. Ride safe, see ya on the trail. |
I don't want to jinx it, but it was the third night in a row that I haven't had to put a foot down on the pavement... I've been hitting so many green lights... It's been beautiful.

beautiful morning, low 50's and no wind, I got a little side tracked on the way to work and ended up with a 48.65 mile ride in, I took a ride through the back country roads where there were no vehicles or people walking or running. I watched the sun rise from the top of a good long climb, what a beauty, things like that are really what this sport is all about. The next few days are forcasted to be similar to today, should be a nice week. Enjoy the ride.

Great ride this morning, not a cloud in the sky, perfect temperature - 14 miles of pure cycling heaven.Given more time and a sympathetic boss, I'd have taken your lead, Mrfix and added the remaining 36 miles :)
Cheers, Ed |
A great morning for riding. Temps were in the upper 50's and there was no wind at all. I counted 21 other bikes this morning. Two of them were recumbents being ridden by kids going to school. I also saw a tandem in a pack of road bikes.
It should be great weather for the ride home this afternoon. |
Haven't posted in forever, but I've been riding (over 2000 miles since I moved). It's starting to get a little chilly in the morning. I'll probably have to invest in a long-sleeve jersey soon. Also looks like I'm going to be riding in the dark in a week or two.
Today was nice and cool to start out with, and the rising sun made everything look pretty. :-) |
Great ride this morning. (well, aren't they all?) Temperature was a balmy 65F/18C with very little wind. Kind of dark this morning as we had a cloud deck hiding the sun.
|
Great ride in this am ... cool high 60's with only moderate humidity for a change! Nice sunrise. Gotta put the light back on, it's dark at 7 when I need to leave ... I just waited till 7:10 today.
I didn't ride yesterday cause I had to take my son to get his retainer fitted. That was the first day I hadn't ridden in over 2 weeks and it was amazing how bad I felt. Crabby and cranky all day. Office looked really wierd with no bike leaning against the wall. I feel MUCH better today :D |
Good ride home yesterday and good ride in today. The Reds have a business day special again today. The game will probably get out right when I leave work again. Yeah more traffic.

I almost got hit by a van! I was riding towards an intersection and there was buddy in the left turn lane. Light was already green as I approached the intersection so I start to hammer through, buddy decides that just as I enter the intersection at full tilt, he's going to make his turn hitting the gas and jumping into the intersection. I thought for sure I was going to go down hard. I start yelling at the top of lungs and he locks up the brakes and stops a few feet shy of where I would have been traveling had I not swerved to avoid the collision as I saw him coming at me. I was pretty pissed, "You f&*kin' a$$!" Was the next thing out of my mouth as I travelled past his open driver's side window and continued on my way. Scared the living crap out of me. I had to took a few deep breaths and settle down.
Other then that it was o.k. |
Hey, JamesV! If you can ramp it up and hold it at 24mph, L Street feels safer than Capitol, even though there's no bike lane. Plus, if you're comfortable with drafting, you can occasionally catch an RT near Sutter's Fort.
My ride in this morning was a nice detour to the American River Bike Trail. Unfortunately, I decided to access the trail at Sac State where there were a zillion cars filling the parking lots and an overzealous trainee traffic cop. |
I left work early because I didn't feel well. Took a 22 mile detour on the ride home to see if it would help me to feel better. Sure enough. I feel much better. Cycling is good medicine!
(it didn't hurt that it was over 90F and mostly sunny this afternoon either! ) |
[cough] I think I may feel a case of that coming on. [/cough]

It was 58F & threatening rain at 6AM but I made it within a few hundred yards of our building before the first shower hit. There was lots of blue sky & sunshine at lunchtime so I rode back thinking the showers were finished for the day. Later, I watched a series of heavy showers work through our area. Managed to ride home in sunshine on fairly dry streets.

I don't think it could have been much better this morning. Riding from Kingston to Hobart over the bonet (anyone who knows Hobart will know how nice this ride is), not a cloud in the sky. A little mist on the Derwent river. And only got stopped by 4 red lights. What a great start to the day. Can't wait for the ride home :)
|
Bonnet, actually... :)
Yes, not a cloud in the sky, almost no wind, mirror calm on the river. 7 deg C in the city. A great way to start a working day (and terrorising bikeforums). And I saw that delicious lady who has been doing a walk-commute across the bridge to her accounting firm for as long as I remember. Now, that really did make my day (again). |

15 degrees C and sunny this morning, with a decent tail wind. I took it pretty easy as I'd already been out to Hinze Dam for a quick 45km or so before work this morning (where it got down to 10 C). Strangely invigorating ride except for getting stuck behind that truck in Surfers this morning. Queensland must be the only place in the world where they encourage heavy vehicles to use the back streets. Surfers Paradise must be the only place in the world where their garbage needs to be taken out every frikken day! |

The ride home yesterday was not as bad as I thought it would be. The Reds game got fininshed pretty early and most of the traffic was gone by the time I hit the roads.
Ride in this morning was nice again. I think I am going to get spoiled. |
The weather has been excellent! This morning… it felt like there was no humidity and it was 70 degrees. Today I go pick up my commute bike from the LBS. No more wearing a backpack! :D
|
Unfortunately I could not bike in this morning as it was my day to drop my little girl off at PreSchool. I did the next best thing. I put the sun roof back and my windows down. I am back on the bike tomorrow.
|
Good ride, hot already today, but there's a new coffeshop on my route with very yummy fruit-oat bars (it's The Muddpuppy on N Fig in Montecito Heights, for those in the area-- and they'll let you bring in your bike), so what's a little heat?
|
Nice tailwind coming in today. Which means its going to be a b*tch going home tonight.
|
Enjoyed the moon today, and the sun coming up behind me. Weather is great as always, and I made pretty good time.

Hmmmmm... I've hardly said boo all week. It's been great, I took Monday off and did a day ride with a friend of mine, the weather was perfect, we did allot of exploring and ended up with 76 miles and lots of treats. The weather has been good all week for the most part, it's finally summer like today, they say we might hit 90F. I had a great ride in this morning, I love my route to this office, it's one of my favorites (it's also the longest). Although my other offices that I ride to have their merits.
|
Weather was great, wasn't too sweaty when I got to work... the baby wipes did their trick. There was a wakeboarder on the lake, which is always fun to watch as I'm riding around it.
