ride was great, tailwind coming back to town from the pub was superb, lost my bontrager tail light somewhere on the the trail. New toy time.

A nice ride in at 66f (18C). I love the warm mornings. Something was going on along the roads I take to work, as police cars were blowing by me at a speed, which made me want to stop. Fast moving lights in the dark are unsettling.
|
Warm indeed in DC, I was down to shortsleeves and shorts. Rolled in a bit earlier than usual, man I love the empty city streets.
|
It was not quite warm up here in MA but it promises to get warmer during the day. Still a very nice ride in in shortsleeves and leggings and regular socks. No warm clothing. No school in MA this week so no school buses and not so many people on the road this morning but that also has to do with the holiday.

Mid 30's and heavy rain out here on the Oregon Coast this evening on the way into work - but the wind has died down, no more 70mph gusts! For awhile I was thinking I should put a jib on my bike and sail to work.
The only crappy part was almost getting run off the road by an old lady in a big ol' boat of a Lincoln. She was swerving in and out of the bike lane until she finally managed to find the driveway she wanted. Fortunately she was doing it at 15 mph, so it was more amusing than hair-raising. |
Jeesh, it's been windy around here lately. Rode 60 miles Sunday with friends on perhaps the windiest ride so far this year. A paceline really helps in situations like that. Wind was still blowing from the SW this morning, so my commute was headwinds the whole way. My legs were tired from the long ride yesterday so I just took it easy. No point fighting the wind with tired legs. Hopefully the wind direction won't change and I'll get a tailwind for a change on the way home.

Ridiculously warm for April. 65F/18C and slightly humid. First short-sleeve morning ride of the season. Weather guessers are saying mid 80s this afternoon! :twitchy:
A hipster on an old roadbike pulled out in front of me (not unsafely) on a road so I had a commuting buddy for about a mile before he turned. Hipsters don't shift. Did you know that? They do obey signs and lights though. |
I hate to say this but I did not ride today cause it was raining a lot and it was blowing sideways. I dont care on the way home, but it was just too early.
|
Fantastic ride this morning. 40 degrees and calm. Rode along the river the entire way and tested out my bike packing kit.

Tell me life isn't sweet... ;) Today was about 68 degees F on the way in at 6:30 and should be close to 82 on the way home. Beautiful 4.3 miles, 9.6 total today. |
The ride into work last night was great as was the first five minutes of the ride home this morning. Then it all went into the crapper. :(
|
Here in Ma it is Patriots Day which is a state holiday.
|
Brought the road bike for the AM commute today. Better time than the Trek FX. Best morning weather so far this year. 55F, crystal clear sky.

50F; started misting but ended in full-on rain, very wet wet wet

Niiiice! It was like 70F this morning and sunny, it's 82F now and it's supposed to get close to 90F later today  And back to 60s tomorrow :twitchy:
|
Beautiful day here on Coastal Maine. Even the breeze stayed off shore, so 62F felt like it's supposed. Glorious, sunny, great day to be at the beach, except of course I had to ride to work...

You know, it takes a lot of screwing around with streets and stuff to mess up a bike commute, but DC has managed again. This morning's fun involved a street closing pushing me onto a busier street and a tractor trailer attempting to back in to an alley, and doing a horrible job of it.
Also, I made the classic blunder of dressing for the parking lot, not the ride, which meant I had a wind layer on that was completely unneeded. Sure, I could have stopped and taken it off, but that might have cost me a minute. Or two. |
Warm, and a strong tailwind for once! Power was out due to the wind in a lot of areas, and drivers seemed to be especially hostile. Wondering if its stress related from all the confusion and jams at the lights. Hoping that tailwind switches directions for the ride home.

Good ride in. Was just warm enough that I toughed it out with no jacket.
Weather guessers said it would be clear till evening. At lunch a wave of rain came through. At :230pm I had to mess with some spread sheets so went up to my office for the Double monitors. Look out and see it starts lightly raining again. Does this on and off till 3:45pm and stops. I leave at 4pm and looking at the Radar showed it should be raining. Made a break for it. I got a couple drops on the way home but that was it and made it just before the next wave or rain cut loose. :thumb: |

Great rides, though I took it easy to make them last. The only exciting part was merging through moving traffic to the left turn lane but even that went smoothly. Oh there was a huge 3-foot snapping turtle on the trail, which might have been exciting except he wasn't actually doing anything and I was stopping anyway to offer aid to the cyclist there.

Warm and windy. One of calves is feeling awry. I think it happened going up a hill.
I saw a hipster with headphones, and that's illegal in this state. Then, I saw an anorexic with a Specialized. My god his elbows were twice the width of his triceps. His frame was small. The seat post looked insanely high. I don't know how he can ride his low spoke counted wheels on the kind of roads we were on. I had to patch my tube today. It only started leaking ever since I had my LBS true my wheel. I wondered if they poked a hole in it. Seriously my rear tube's pressure was like 50PSI or so when I got home from the LBS. I inflated my tires this morning. One was obviously leaking air as it was deflated. I didn't have time to patch it then. I just made sure I carried my frame pump. Before I headed my way back home, it was about 75PSI, so I pumped it to 115. Then, I put a rema patch on it when I got home. |
Another warm windy ride in, sun really creeping up on the horizon.
|
The ride in this am was very nice, warm and the sun coming up. Where I ride there is not to much traffic to begin with but even less this week as it is school vacation week. I went 2 1/4 miles with no one else on the road with me.
