Uhh, there ARE different laws. I cannot take a 49cc Honda Ruckus on the freeway. I also cant drive an 18 wheeler through neighborhood side streets. Im required to maintain insurance and a driver lisence if I want to drive a car, for a bike, I dont.

If you want to sit like a dork for 4 minutes at a red light with no traffic, more power to ya. As for me, I'll look both ways and safely get on with the rest of my day.

I like to say that it's proof that potatoes can raise IQ.

I don't believe all these responses where cyclists claim to stop and wait through the entire red light cycle when there's no crossbound traffic. I've never seen anyone do that. Plus, some of the signal actuators won't even register a bicycle. One could be sitting for quite a while at some of the more sleepy intersections!
Wonder if there's a country/western song about a rider who spends the night at a red light, waiting for the signal to change?
