a nice ride in this morning though I got very light sprinkles at 8.31 miles at that point there is a mile and a quarter left. So no big deal with the rain, yet. Who knows what this afternoon will bring, but that is on the way home. Anyways, I was glad to ride this morning as I have not ridden my bike to work since last Tuesday.

Best commute time for me yet: 14.43 miles, 54 minutes, avg speed 16 mph
That's door to door time.
Weather was OK, a little warm and humid but not oppressive. We've had a pretty mild summer this year.

Well I am finally back on the bike. I was gone on vacation for two weeks and then bought a new truck that you know I had to drive around a little. Anyway, the commute was nice and cool this morning and I look forward to the ride this afternoon. I am trying to figure out a way to ride more on the weekends. I may only ride three days a week and rest my legs a little so that I can ride with friends on Saturdays. If I ride all week my legs are worn out and I don't feel I could keep up on the weekends.

We've had several days of unseasonably cool, dry weather but it is back to the heat and humidity today. My legs are still recovering from an 80-mile ride on Sunday, but I still managed a fairly fast commute this morning with help from a few unexpected green lights.

The humidity during the last couple of days has been oppressive, even though the temperatures haven't been too high. Yesterday evening, 9-10pm, it was 20C (68F) but TheWeatherNetwork.com said that it felt 29C (84C): I went outside to get some cooler air while chatting with my dad on the phone but it wasn't any better than inside and it was too warm for the A/C to kick in.
This morning's ride in was 18C (64F) but felt like 27C (81F) on the ride in this morning through mist to thick fog. Went over a couple of bumps in a construction zone and felt cool spray as moisture was dislodged from my helmet visor and handle bars.

A nice ride in this morning but broke the chain taking off at a light. Luckily I was only about a mile from the office so I walked and coasted the rest of the way in. There is a bike shop a block away and will get a new chain today for tonights ride home. I was planning on changing it out anyway as it was stretched beyond what it should be.

With less than a month left of summer we finally have some summer weather - low 70's this morning and humid. Still feeling a little pukey from last week's crash so I've been taking it easy, but that's still better than driving!

Back to it after taking Monday off following a 55-mile ride Sunday.
Took my roadie today, instead of the CX bike, and shaved some time.
There's a tree down on the MUP, well, down, but about 8 feet or so off the ground. I ducked low just to be safe.
Had a 7,9,10 split of elderly asian folks on the MUP too, and as I approached of course the woman on the far left starts to meander back to join the other two. Sees me, stops dead in the middle of the MUP. I'd already committed to going to the far left left, even if that meant the grass. Ugh ...
Oh, and had a tri-geek and his GF I'm supposing, in front of me, they were slowing and he was, I'm assuming expounding on the wonders of tri and how amazing his Trek TT bike is while unclipping on the left side of the MUP. At least he moved a little further right than the woman above.
Supposed to be mid-90s with high humidity this afternoon. Not planning to push hard

Yeah, I generally slow down when I see stuff like this, and I did this time too.
Generally speaking, if you have a group split like this, the straggler will go back to the rest of the group, so I figured she'd be going right.
OH ... got passed by a young kid, skinny, in a full kit on a Specialized Carbon of some sort. Not sure what kind of ride he was doing, and I didn't sit on his rear wheel, but I paced him for a couple of miles. He kept looking back to see if he'd dropped me and eventually he sat up and slowed down. Found that kind of amusing as I passed him back

*sigh* no commuting today or tomorrow as I'm not feeling so great. Kid got sick last week, then wife, and now me.

Cool and foggy ride this morning on the fixed gear. Chased a roadie up a hill, and when I caught up near the top, she gave me a cheery, "Good morning!", and all I could manage in reply was a breathless, wheezy, "hi!"

About two miles further down I run into the same, this time it is a software company that encourages it's staff to hold meetings while walking five abreast on a five shoulder wide MUP.

Good ride this morning until I almost got to the office, when the rain suddenly started to come down. Ironically, it stopped as soon as I got in the building to park my bike!
The same thing happened on my way home yesterday. Welcome to Seattle.

Nice commute today. Left 05:30 almost no traffic, was still dark. On the way home I made it back in record time. Covered the 18 miles in 40 minutes. Surprised myself.

Recovering from Sunday's ride. So goal was to make it in to work early enough and get home any way necessary...
Fairly enjoyable. Much less pain then expected.

Nice ride in, a comfortable 18C (64F) temp but 100% humidity so I was a sweat bucket by the time I arrived at work, partly because I was pushing it, 25.1kmh (15.6mph), on knobby Kenda Small Block 8 without full pressure.

Weird ride in this morning.
Rarely see any other cyclists in the morning. Coming to a stop light I came upon another cyclist. He was riding ninja style. He was going slower but the light was red so I didn't try to pass him. When the bike lane ended he started weaving back and forth in the right lane taking the whole lane right in front of me. I just stayed where I always do at that point, just left of the center of the lane. That allows people to turn right at the light but prevents others from trying to squeeze past me in my lane. I left him when the light changed to green.
A mile later ran into a police net. Police vehicles all over the place, stopped in the bike lane, going slow in the regular lane, spot lights swinging back and forth. They didn't stop me so I kept going.
