Last night's homebound commute was light rain, overcast but not terribly cold.

Streets were still wet this monring but the birds continue toi soing in the dark and I believe we are mere days away from calendar Spring here in the U.S. 39F/4C

Fast commute this morning despite wet roads and temps in the upper 30s. The cloud ceiling was about 50 feet, so I was afraid that fog would settle in, but it never did. My legs were somewhat rested from taking the day off riding yesterday due to rain, but they're still a little tired from lots of miles last week. Our unseasonably cold weather continues and temps are consistently running 10-15 degrees below normal for this time of year.

Been reading about the snow storm hitting North America; pretty bad.

Unfortunately I don't have a pic from today's commute because I ended up taking public transport to work because of a three day migraine which is killing me. I don't think i can even take public transport back home and will end up taking a cab.

Don't say this often, but this morning's commute sucked. 25F with cross winds of 17-25mph. There were times when I was leaning into the wind to stay upright. Since there's always something to be grateful for, I rode my road bike for the first time in almost 3 months - wow, it's soooo smoooooth. And now the sun is shining and supposed to get to 38F this afternoon... with 17-25mph winds. Oh well, better than a headwind

Commuting in Dublin; distance 15km, temp 2C. It was raining hard, then snowing, and repeat. Weather change every 10 minutes

We just came back from spring break this week. This morning's wind chill was -16F! That's just wrong! I must say though that I've had no real feeling of cabin fever this winter/spring, and I'm sure it's from all the time outside bike commuting (I'd never tried commuting through the winter before this year).

Commute was great even though it was cold (<40F) and set a few PRs on tough sections like a ~5% 1.1mi climb. Got to work and my commute went from great to UGH when I realized that for the last 12.5mi (scenic route) I had not been wearing my helmet. Worse, now I remember that my helmet is on TOP of my car at the park and ride. Double UGH. Split second decision is made to get back on the bike and ride back to my car and hope that my helmet is still there. Total back is ~9mi (direct route) and now 90+ minutes since I first left. Helmet still on top of my car.

I get in the car, drive back home, put up my bike, take a 2nd shower, get dressed and now drive to work because my legs are shot and I have an 11am meeting that I'd miss if I ride back in. Blah.

It could have been worse I guess.

Another great 31 mile (50km) round trip to the shop today. mid 30's and cloudy in the morning with a slight breeze in my face (polite way of saying light headwind), 50's and sunny with another slight headwind on the way home. I have off tomorrow and Thursday and will have another double commute on Fri and Sat. The legs feel tired but good - it is nice to be back on the bike for something longer than my 11 mile grocery loop that has sufficed for a "commute" these past 12 months.

Nice ride in. Although it was -8C (18F) with a 10km/h (6mph) wind and I dressed for milder temperatures, I was fine. There was a bit of snow last night but I am more confident on the roads now, there is no snow on the main roads (and just surface on the side streets) so I've left the sidewalks until next winter.

I have to fix my pedal situation: I've been riding this week in my MTB shoes (with an SPD cleat underneath) on my old bike with rat trap pedals and my feet keep slipping around on the pedals. Either I need to install toe clips on the pedal from another bike or get a PowerGrip. I could get SPD pedals but I don't want to spend the money, I'd rather spend it on my summer bikes, get them ready for the challenges I've set myself for this summer. However, if someone has a used but usable set of SPD pedals that they want to get rid of for cheap (plus shipping), PM me.

Headwinds returned but a pleasant and quiet ride in. Well above freezing.

Fast commute again this morning with temps in the low 40s and light wind. Rode my quickest, lightest commuter bike and pushed the pace because I won't be able to ride home this afternoon. My daughter needs me to pick up her car after work and drive it home, so I'll carry my bike home in her trunk.

Yesterday was a Jekyll-and-Hyde commute, with a fast pleasant morning ride and a brutal, slow afternoon ride with monster headwinds. My average speed was about 2-3 mph faster in the morning.

Was a cold, windy and snowy ride this morn! 15f, with about 3 inches of snow on the road and large banks plowed out in the road, not the most fun..... Really need to get a fat bike.

Happy first day of spring! It was 2F (-11F wind chill) on my 15 mile bike commute this morning. We also still have snow up to our butts, what's wrong with this picture? It was still a nice commute though. Hey, if you live in Minnesota have have to go with the flow, even if it's frozen.

I had a fun commute home setting personal records of 20.6 mph and 101 consecutive bicycle commutes (counting 2 per day). Since I don't like having streaks pushing me to bike I decided to drive in today.

15in of heavy snow. Roads are getting plowed but I had to spend 1hour blowing out my driveway and then had to work out of town for the next 2 days, so no commute until friday. Worked out well regardless. I hate it when its nice out and I have to drive out of town.

Drove today. Using the rain, my training schedule, and the need to pick up the kids from an afterschool activity as an excuse to be off the bike today.

Good commute today, 51 Deg.F when I left the house, no issues with motorists or peds, even hit most of the lights on green! No complaints.

The climate's gone crazy! For the past couple of weeks the weather's being stuck in a loop with a couple of days of cold single digit (C) temperatures followed by high teens/low twenties (C) with very high humidity (80%+) and then back again. Almost everyone I know is harboring a cold and I start off dressed in layers and end up stripping almost everything before reaching work.

On the way home tonight, as I was about halfway through a tough ride into a stong headwind, I had a "well, at least it's not thaaaaaaat bad..." moment. As I approached a red light, I saw white/gray smoke coming from under a car's hood (he had the green going across my path, but was not moving). I stopped at the red and then watched as the poor guy's car engine seized up and quit. There was a smell of things burning that shouldn't burn. As my light turned green, he got out and started pushing the disabled car. I felt bad for him, but had to get going. Seeing all that made the headwind seem not so bad.

It was cold this morning, 33 when I got going, but probably lower in my nabe. I didn't really feel it though until I went downhill. I was surprised by how many bikes there were across the Manhattan Bridge. On the ride home I stopped at B&H Photo to look at GoPro cameras. I didn't buy one, but may go back tomorrow and get one. They are even smaller up close than they look in the pictures. After the stop I took the West Side Greenway down to the Brooklyn Bridge. I ride the greenway on my road bike all the time, but have never used it to commute before since I'm located on the east side. There was a steady wind off the Hudson. According to my son the pilot the wind sock read 15-20.

Just got home, 34f windy windy windy head wind of course! Way to work at 3pm was 55f windy (head wind) and pouring rain, so all in all a normal day.

Winter just doesn't want to give up: Just above 0F/32F when I rolled out, some snow in the area but nothing that I could see.
