Fork mount headlamp question

I thought it would be neat to drive side fork mount my headlight.
I did it.
But the black shadow of my front wheel is taking up alotta space in the beam and making me feel lopsided when I ride.

Will two lights nullify this, or will I wind up with two black lines in the beams?

I've never mounted a light like you are talking about, but I have recently mounted my light from my fork crown. That is the way to go IMO. It would seem to me that doing what you are talking about would cast a shadow straight in front of you, not what you want.

I fitted a light mount to the hoop of my Low rider rack .. then shadow is not a big issue..

will 2 fill in each others shadow? try it and see ..

FWIW, Problem Solvers has a brake boss light mount for V and Canti bikes, the package includes 2.

They each make a slight shadow. But nothing like when I run only one so they do offset each other.

I think the fork mounted lights work much better if they have shaped beams. My lights are both high output LEDs, and they cast a round beam, much like a flashlight. The German lights throw a square or rectangular beam.

I'm confused. Why would you want one drive side light? Are you in the UK? I'm not being sarcastic, I mount mine on the non-drive side which is exposed to traffic. I also mount mine on a low rider boss on the fork, it works fine for me.

Can you adjust the mounting? Somehow move it forward and/or more to the side?
I tried fork mounting a MS clone and with my Brompton's 16 in. wheels; there were
no problems.

I know what you mean about the shadow, but I've gotten used to it I guess. I had it mounted on my handlebar, but my new bag doesn't allow for that without a different adapter sitting it up higher. I will say, the lighting is much better up high than down low. I have a different light now too and I mount it on my helmet. LOVE that lighting.

Try your helmet and handlebars. No shadow.

I do have a Right side light mount on the low-rider rack hoop. above the pannier..

because it's the edge of the road I want to see , most , so I dont ride off

and crash, in the abrupt drop off, into the gravel..

My newer setups they are on the fork crown center..

Here is how I have my headlight fork mounted, plus a couple more photos of my bike for good measure...

It's a Busch and Muller fork crown mount.
