Maybe this weekend. I'm also thinking about going to Biltema this weekend, and maybe Ikea, too. Or picking up a used bike... Unfortunately, my stuff, including my two beloved bikes, won't be here until early May. They've only just left Oakland, heading towards the Panama Canal...
I'm sure I'll be all excited to find the metric hardware here! I think I'm going to replace some stuff with star-head bolts or some other solution so they're less likely to be stolen, which happens here pretty often according to an unfortunate colleague who is only a few weeks ahead of me.
Oh, and I received my Personnummer this week. That should make life a lot easier!

I was told it could be up to twelve weeks for my cohort to form, so I may just end up enrolling in a pay-for class. That sort of thing tends to involve many more serious people.

You'll get sorted in SFI class by doing a test at the beginning.
If you're a single person ... you should do it as you'll meet interesting people!

always rides with luggage
The bearings in my left pedal went to crap today. Not shocking, as I bought these pedals in 2009 and they have graced at least 4 different bikes since. I pulled shiny new pedals from spare parts and moved the clips and straps over.
The rear tire (which was both cheap and previously used on another bike) started falling apart, too, so I pulled a previously-used Panaracer off of the ceiling and mounted it up. I should pony up for some 700x37 WTB All-Terrains. They would help when I decide to hit the trail on the way home.

SRAM PC 870 is good, but expensive (18 euros). Now tried KMC X-8 - LBS guy says it's their top chain and should last (and it's half the price of SRAM).

one can watch the chain stretch over time (i'm assuming that the rear wheel remains fixed in place).
it gets noticeable at 700km and is quite noticeable now at 1100.
wonder if I can make it to 1500km before adjusting the rear wheel?
