Quite the humid and foggy ride in this morning. My sunglasses kept fogging over so I eventually took them off. It's rare for me to see other cyclists in the morning, but today I passed 4, one of which was likely a commuter.
It is actually a Trek 7.2 FX

After two weeks the attacking bird was still up for a fight this morning, I hope it will stop soon because I can't get used to it and it makes me jump every time.
Have you tried a disguise yet? Stuffed hawk mounted on the rack? There must be some way to outsmart a bird!

Gorgeous ride this morning.

70 degrees and sunny ... very little wind. After having Friday off and not riding all weekend my legs were fresh. Really hoping to commute four days this week. A very unremarkable commute this morning. Supposed to be in the mid 80s with high humidity this afternoon. And a part of me is really looking forward to that. It's been a very mild summer so far

A coworker remarked this morning that it wasn't a great day for a bike ride, and I was taken aback for a moment. On the ride in I was marveling about how pleasant it was. Misty rain to be sure but never enough to soak me, the air quality and temperature extraordinary for July. No other bicycles out and about, only a few joggers - they all missed out in my opinion.

Plus one! It all depends on your attitude. I had pretty much exactly the same weather coming in this morning. Loved it.

15 very foggy miles this morning. My clothes were soaked by the time I arrived at work, but it felt refreshing. I think I've finally got my bike dialed in the way I want it after few changes this year.

Some of my best rides have been in light rain or misty conditions. This morning was very misty and I loved it. I'm debating adding fenders to my bike. I think I'll leave them off until this fall/winter.

I was glad for my rear fender this morning, although I've taken the front off for now. I'm sometimes tempted but I pretty much consider the rear fender a permanent fixture.

I had a nice commute this morning. Cloudy, quite, pleasant in general. I got a draft from a truck up the incline on the bridge this morning, that was pleasant and fast.

I tried the first most of my commute in my middle ring this morning, I use it maybe a few km for every few hundred km. I was not spinning out like I thought I would, but then again I had an unusual heavy load for the ride. Nor was I particularly slower. I may try it more to work on getting my cadence up.

I also feel fast in the rain and I think that I have had some of my better commutes in rain. There is something peaceful and serene about the rain. I really enjoy hiking in it as well.

This afternoon was a great ride. It rained very hard all day and then cleared up about 30 minutes before my commute home. My average temperature was 70°.

The ride in this morning was very nice, I left a fifteen minutes early so I could extend the ride. I have to go straight home after work today no extra riding time.

It was a very nice morning to ride into work. The temperatures are fairly low and I actually had a light rain for half of my ride. It felt pretty good. The only thing is it was one of my slowest times. It may be because I'm carrying a laptop and heavy bag now.

The serious rain has been very cooperative for my commutes so far. I've had some very light or misting spells, but the heavy rains stopped before my commute yesterday afternoon and this morning. 71F and about 90% humidity.

There is some road construction on one short road I usually take. I can still get through, but gravel and mud are starting to spread about. This morning I took a short detour to avoid that section and may continue doing so until I can verify they are finished doing whatever they are doing. I hope they are going to repave it because it is the only bad section of my whole route.

Warm, around 75 degrees and starting to get muggy. Still waiting on my eggbeater rebuild kit, and after riding the commuter yesterday, it was just way too loud and creaky to ride today, so I took the roadie. Plus I had a tailwind.

Utterly blistered the ride in ... averaged JUST under 17 mph. Felt amazing. Tonight, however, supposed to be appoaching 90 with ungodly tropical humidity. Needless to say that ride home will be slower. There's also a chance of storms. Might be a welcome reprieve from the heat and humidity. And I'm one day of commuting from 900 miles on the year.

I never thought it would keep it up for that long so I didn't think of anyway to get rid of it. This morning I kept looking over my shoulder while I was passing Under his tree but he didn't came. Was it because I was looking up?

The ride was nice, hot and humid with a good tailwind.

Nice ride to work this morning with a temporary lull between showers. Hopefully I will be so lucky this afternoon. We are in a weather pattern where it can basically rain at any time, any day but with the greatest probability during my afternoon commute time. I don't mind getting a little wet, but we have had some tremendous thunderstorms lately that have dumped huge amounts of rain in short periods of time -- like 4" over a couple of hours. That has led to lots of flash flooding and poor visibility, not my choice for cycling. However, if I don't ride every time the forecasts call for a 40-50% chance of rain, I might as well store my bike for the summer. So I take my chances and sometimes I get lucky and sometimes I pay for it.

He might have thought you were planning an ambush, or he's trying to lull you into a false sense of security. I wouldn't trust it.

I vote for the false sense of security, it was what I also was thinking. maybe you should plan an extra ten minutes and make friends one morning. Bring some bugs and cracked corn and let him know you are a friendly.

I had a nice commute this morning. I had a mild head wind, but the temperature was great. I do not miss the eastern hot and muggy summers at all.

I saw a friend on my one small uphill this morning, she drove today and I go by her work. She caught up with me and we had a nice chat uphill at about 18 km/h. She does the hill usually with a trailer and a heavy Swobo and she could not believe how fast I was going. I did not feel fast, but I picked up the pace to match more of her speed. It ended up being my PR on the hill! It is nice to see good friends when you do not expect it on a ride.

I tried the middle ring on my way up the hill heading home yesterday. I worked hard, but was not faster. I just feel better in the big ring. I did pass a guy then I mis-shifted a bit later and had to slow a bit. He then passed me and I was unable to pass due to traffic. Kind of annoying, but at least he was only a small fraction slower.

My commute last night was fine for me, my longest leg (22 miles) ended with an accident 4 blocks from my house however.

Two teens were hit by a car. One died, other serious injuries. Driver okay. Reports state they crossed on a red and had been possibly drinking. It was 9pm and very dark out, street lamps are not real bright. I rolled up just after it happened (fire was just rolling up and the station is only 2 blocks away) and I saw no lights on the bikes lying down, no helmets around, no reflective or light clothing on the victims. I cannot saw wiht 100% confidence that this is the case, but at the time it seemed like it was lacking. Plus the reports from this morning indicating alcohol make it seem plausible there was none.

They had no safety equipment. It seems like none of the fixie riders around here care about that, never have reflectors and always wearing dark clothing, even at night and no lights on their bikes. I have yet to see them obey traffic signals as well. But I made it home after 22 miles, even through construction areas, narrow shoulders, busy but dark roads, etc. But I ride with two front lights, two rear lights and reflective jersey.

Moral of the story: dress safe, ride safe and stay safe.

The ride out was pretty bad, to be honest. About 86 but quite a bit of headwind, unfortunately was knocked down by a driver on their cell phone who turned without a signal and didn't bother to stop and see if I was injured. I wasn't, and neither was my bike. A few blocks later, another cyclist and I nearly collided with someone riding against traffic on a narrow street mostly blocked with a large mail truck. Only jumping the curb avoided it.

The ride home was pretty wonderful. I usually take a longer route home since it's cooler and there's hardly any traffic that late (It's after midnight) I took a different street home and found a strange intersection where the bike lane moves to the other side of the street when you cross it, I can't imagine it's at all safe in the daytime when there's traffic. Having no cars around, a strong tailwind, and 3-4 other cyclists most of the way is pretty great.

That's a very good idea!!! But unfortunately this morning I rode to work in a T-storm so no bird in sight.

I had a very strong tailwind so I did a very good 56 min. for my 27.4 kms commute.

One lightning bolt fell in a corn field about 1 kms to my left, the light and sound was terrible, it scared the sh*t out of me and the adrenaline probably helped me along with the tailwind to keep a good pace for the rest of the ride.

Ride home last night was incredibly hot and muggy, 89 if I recall and about 75 percent humidity. Really off the charts. Had a bit of a headwind too. I just took it easy.

This morning ... holy headwinds. 15 - 20 mphs headwinds the entire way to work, though I did get a little shelter at times while on the MUP. Dramatic temp decrease too, was only 64 this morning. Had a hard time getting up and convincing myself to ride today, sort of hemmed and hawed after the alarm went off. I finally remembered I'd cross 900 miles this year by riding to work today, so that sealed it. Then I walked outside and almost bailed when I heard/felt the wind. Will likely take tomorrow off and ride Friday. Would make for my first four-day commute week this year I believe.

Hot ride home yesterday. Took one of my longer routes (18 miles) to the Kentucky river. New insulated water bottle helped with the heat, but I was starving by the time I got home.

Overslept a bit this morning. My boss has been on me to use some vacation time so I wasn't too worried about getting to work on time. 72 F and clear made for a nice commute. Made it to work by 8:00 AM. I'm feeling energized from my ride into work.
