handlebar basket for drop bars?

I did some online shopping for a handlebar basket to fit 42cm drop bars. I have about 13" in between the levers.
Pretty much every basket available is 14" wide or more, and the pictures always show them mounted on hybrids and cruisers.

Is there a smallish basket out there that will work on road bars? I'd like 10" wide, 8" out and 6" deep, but anything in the ballpark will work.

thanks!

There are handlebar bags for sure that should all be able to hold a 6-pack.

Nashbar

Ortlieb

Arkel

(don't mock me for the pricy ones I led w/ the affordable one!)

The PDW basket claims it fits between drop bars...

I just put this one on my wife's road bike:

It's 8.7" x 5.1" x 7.1" (LxWxH). Uses a quick release and converts to a fanny pack for off the bike use.

They also have one that's a little larger:

It's 10" x 7.1" x 9.1", and also uses a quick release.

You could also put a flattop rack on the fork and bungie a crate to it.

Actual Open basket?, R&K Klick Fix makes QR baskets that use their handlebar bag mounts.

R&K Klick Fix system also includes extended mounts for more hand clearance.
I have fixed Klick Fix to standard baskets.

Bikes: 2006 Specialized Ruby Pro aka "Rhubarb" / and a backup road bike

Several women in my bike club use a small handlebar bag, I think it's labeled "Bell". I've seen them at Wal*Mart.
They put them on a regular road bike with drop handlebars.
They are large enough for use as a small purse (eg: sunscreen, wallet, sunglasses, phone, car keys, comb, lip balm, coffeeshop lock) but too small for a 6-pack.
The advantage is that they are easily removed when leaving the bike mid-ride for food, etc.

On my stops I remove several things off the bike and from the saddlebag. There is a real downside to stuffing these items into a jersey pocket during pitstops.

Small handlebar baskets dont hold much and larger ones can bob around when loaded, which is why delivery style baskets have braces to the fork. A handlebar bag may be better. From there I would look at rear rack and trunk bag/panniers.

If it is for a purse, get a small messenger bag like Timbuk2.

Get yourself a low front rack. Lower center of gravity. More room to get creative with packing options. Sturdier. Etc... Many Randonneur setups will utilize the small front racks with a very packable front bag mounted to the top.

Looking myself, I found this https://www.amazon.com/Minoura-Gamoh-.../dp/B00FHV0VVA .

It lists at 4.8 lbs, but there is also a smaller one available.

Should work with any bars as long as you have enough spare tube.
