I Got a New AWOL!

I Got a New AWOL!

Had the shop build it for me, as I wanted mtb gearing and the albatross/oxford bar 'cockpit'. This will serve me for everything from road to light mtbing. Most of my riding is on gravel roads.

Looks like I need to wait unti tues to ride it, as I dont like riding while its snowing. Darn it!

Congratulations. I like the upside down north road bar. I run one on my Velo Orange Piolet.

Thanks.

First ride report (I had to wait for it to stop snowing)....... Its great! Very happy. Its touring-bike heavy, of course. But a lovely combination of stable/agile. The 47c tires are going to be just right, I think.

The image might be in your browser's cache, which means it will show up for you only on that browser, but won't show up in other browsers.

The site the image is from probably isn't allowing direct linking to that image.

Yes, touring bikes are heavy. I just got some 700x28 Vittoria Rubino G+ tires to liven up the ride of the Piolet. Not a touring tire but I use my bike mostly for commuting. The Rubinos really do make a difference. They are fast which means that it takes less effort, and the surprise is they have a very good ride.

What 47c tires are you using?

I love my AWOL. I'm running Salsa Cowbell bars and a 50/34 - 11-32, 5800 105 drivetrain. Kenda Kozmik 29x2.0 tubeless on Velocity/Hope wheelset.

Specialized Trigger Sport 47c. I did tons of online research and seems there's lots of fine tires out there, but these suit the kind of riding I do most, I think.
